In COS, the chamber was opened 50 years before, when Riddle was 15. Hagrid was at Hogwarts, so at least 11. So, wouldn't Hagrid and Voldemort have to be in their mid 60's?? Tney aren't described as that old in the libros o movies..

My opinion is that Voldemort stopped aging when he started making Horcruxes and Hagrid ages slower than most because of his giant blood. They both look younger than they truly are.

Wizards and magical folk live longer than Muggles.

Also, J.K. didn't really describe there age. Also, Voldemort went through many magical transformations probably making his age unknowable.

The libros also never describe them as being younger, so since JKR dicho that they were about 15 when the CoS was open in the books, then yeah, they must be about 65.

Wizard's don't age like humans do. They age a lot slower. Dumbledore and his brother (and probably McGonagal) are both in their hundreds when Dumbledore dies in the Half-Blood Prince.

The Chamber would have been opened in schoolyear 1942-1943. Hagrid was in his third year.
Voldemort's fecha of birth - 31 decemer c1926
Hagrid's fecha of birth -December 6, 1928

In Philosopher's Stone Hagrid would have been 63, Voldemort (or what he was at that moment) 65.

Their age is not really described in the books, but like others dicho wizards don't age as muggles do and Hagrid also has giant blood.

well dumbledore was like 114 o something when he died, so they do live longer than muggles dont they?

Hagrid was in his 3rd año at hogwarts when it was opened so he was 13.Tom told everyone the Hagrid opened it so he got expelled but he stayed at hogwarts 50years later it was opened so tu add 13 and 50 together which is 13 + 50 = 63 . So in COS hagrid was about 63 years old

Voldemort was drinking unicornios blood and making Horcruxes and all that funny stuff so he probably doesn't age like normal humans o age at all.

Yes, both Hagrid and Voldemort are not that young. However, keep in mind that wizards' lifetime is about twice the Muggles'. See how Aunt Muriel is (in DH, she's 107), o Dumbledore who died (prematurely) at 115 o so.

Besides, Hagrid is a half-giant. Giants may have a longer lifetime. According to the Lexicon, he would have been born on Dec. 6, 1928. So he was a young student when Tom Marvolo Riddle was a prefect.

As for Voldemort... he almost died a first time (in 1981, courtesy of Lily's sacrifice to save her son). He came back from almost nowhere in 1995 (in the infamous graveyard scene). He had undergone so many transformations throughout his life due to Dark Magic that he's got practically nothing human left. According to the Lexicon, he's born on Dec. 31, 1926, so he was 71 when he died for good in May 1998.

Of interest : Minerva McGonagall was born on October 4, 1925, according to the Lexicon.

That's actaully been puzzling me for a while, but i guess that Voldemort doesn't age anymore thanks to the horcruxes and that Hagrid....well- he's just Hagrid...giant blood must make them age slowly o something.
But has anyone else noticed apart from me that Lucius Malfoy is in the memory where Voldemort is starting Hogwarts and he's already a prefect????
Wouldn't that make him like well over 60 now? and far too old to be Draco's dad, becuase he's described as young in the book, and the in the films he's like only 30/40ish. Any suggestions????

Well for one thing, wizards live much longer than muggles, so they may not age in appearance as fast. Hagrid is also half-giant. That may have to do with why he looks younger than he is. As for Voldemort, like others have said, he may have stopped aging when he made his first horcrux.

if tu have seen the cine hagrid is greying and is kind of wrinkly tu can't tell how old volde~ oops i mean the dark lord is cause he died and came back with horcruxes but tu can tell a little.

Rowling didn't write in any of the libros about Hagrid o Voldemort being younger than in their sixties.
Instead of finding flaws in JKR's incredible plots,think of some interesting questions.

Wizards live much longer than their Muggle counterparts. At the time of the Chamber's segundo opening, Dumbledore was 150 and McGonagall a sprightly 70. Thus, Hagrid is probably in the prime of his life.
