Hows about this mental connection???

Presumably, Voldemort knows of the connect por the middle of Book 5, since he succeeds at planting the vision of Sirius being attacked inside Harry's mind, so as to lure them to the Department of Mysteries. Since that deceptive mover worked so well, why doesn't Voldemort try further ruses down the road? Throughout libros 6 and 7, the mental connection persists and becomes a huge benefit to Harry - seeing Voldemort's whereabouts, knowing his desires to an extent, and seeing his panicked reaction when the horcruxes start falling one por one. All this benefits Harry, and Voldemort never tries to turn the tables and deceive Harry again. My bewilderment is simply about WHY?

Voldemort only utilized the ability once. Before, he didn't know about the pain it caused. Voldemort never wants to admit that something could hurt him, so, he'd not use it again. Once bitten, twice shy.
Also, he used the connection only so that he could get the prophecy. Recall that they can only be removed por whoever it's about. Voldemort couldn't just waltz into the Ministry then. Thus, it falls to Harry to retrieve it.

that's a great answer and makes great sense of things, IF it's true that the deception causes Voldemort pain. I don't remember lectura anything that dicho that it was agonizing for him, though. Do tu remember where that's said?

One of two places: DH in Snape's memory o OOTP when discussing the prophecy. I'm fairly certain it was OOTP (book), but you'll have to double-check

I think that Voldemort difn't use the connection throughout the rest of the series is because the time he used it in Order of the Phoenix, it was confirmed that he was back when he was trying to stay in hiding. I don't think that he wanted anything else bad to happen.
