Severus' memories scene in the last HP movie. Wrong memory in that scene ?

Let me explain : At some point in that scene, when Harry watches Severus' memories in the pensieve, as instructed por the Potions Master, we can see Trelawney making a prediction, just before Severus met Dumbledore. But we can hear her saying "Master and servant shall be reunited once more". That prediction was excerpted from the Prisoner of Azkaban movie and alluded to Wormtail finding Voldemort. While in Severus' memories, the prediction referred to "a boy born at the end of July..."

My pregunta is : Don't tu think they had the wrong prediction in the scene editing ? I think they had. The prediction reported por Severus to the Dark Lord back then - and for which the Potions Master had turned after to Dumbledore, as explained a few moments later in the same memory scene - concerned Harry, not Wormtail.

Your input does interest me as I had been wondering since the time I had watched the movie on its release.

No, tu are right, that was the wrong prophecy. I still wonder, because they had the footage from the right prophecy to use, why the hell did they decide to use the PoA one :(

So right. And even if they did not have it, they could have filmed it - Emma Thompson who played Trelawney was available for the movie.

I think you're right. I noticed it as well but I dismissed it as a movie mistake. After all they did make a mistake in the philosopher's stone when the snake at the zoo blinked. Snake do not have eyelids therefore they cannot blink.

I agree - movie mistake - like the one tu mentioned about snakes "eyelids".

tu are correct. Don't ask me WHY they made that change, I really don't know. Unfiortunately, for those fans that know how much it costs to pay attention, it causes a bit of confusion.
My diagnosis: tu are a devoted Potterhead, perhaps lifelong. tu also see every little detail.
My solution: If the switch bothers tu that much, there's a nifty little fast adelante, hacia adelante button on your remote. Just skip it.

A last note: Neither of those ("boy born at the end of July" and "master an servan will be united once more") are predictions. They are prophecies. When making a prophecy, Trelawney's voice goes all weird. During normal predictions (telling Harry he's going to die) nothing about her changes.

Thanks for the compliment about my being a Potterhead. However, I think it has más to do with my exceptional sense of observation. lol The memory scene is great all in all so I won't bother skipping it just for a few seconds. I was only surprised they made that obvious mistake. Perhaps my fanfiction writer self that got annoyed, as I am very careful about consistency in my own stories. As for predictions/prophecies, yes, you're right. Prophecies sound just más powerful, más ominous, más binding than mere predictions. If I can change it in my question, I will replace "prediction" with "prophecy".

I noticed aswell, It might have been because they did a horible job at the first prophecy they had to use the old one, but as mentioned above they had Emma Thompson there, but...

You're spot on, LN. There's a few things they did that really stick in my craw, and that's one of them.

I personally think it meant that moment was the turning point in Snape's later life: when Snape had to risk his life multiple times for the son of his enemy. I think it shows he could have turned down the job of spy but continued for Lily.
