What is the difference between Death and the Dementor's Kiss?

I'd agree with tu on that theory. I guess that's another pregunta for J.K. Rowling! I assume that your soul passes on when tu die but if tu get kissed por a dementor maybe it stays trapped with only the worst memories? I don't know, I'm just kinda making this stuff up.

well it says that if tu get kissed por a dementor tu become a dementor.(i think) but u know death is death realy..... no matter how tu look at it.!

In Prisoner of Azkaban (I just got done lectura it again last night for the million time in my life, ha), it's stated that a Dementor's kiss is worse than death itself. It's explained that when a Dementor performs the kiss, the soul is sucked away while the physical body remains in a coma-like state. Our souls are supposed to contain our personality, memories, etc., and it was implied that since the soul is sucked out, a person no longer has a personality, memories and the like. I think it's seguro to say that the soul is forced to live out an eternity in Limbo, where it relives the person's worst memories over and over and over until the end of time.

The Dementor's kiss doesn't actually kill the victim (not immediately, anyway). The person's body remains alive, but they've lost all memory, all emotion, all personality etc. I'm not sure how long the body could stay alive. I also got the slight impression that suffering the Dementor's kiss could affect someone's chances of moving on to any afterlife. Possibly the Dementors feed on the souls they absorb, just like they feed off happiness.

Dementors just damn your soul, but the death can actually kill soul in particular situations.
