Is this a flaw in the book o am I missing something?!!!

Well in The Deathly Hallows in the cafe after the death eater attack Ron says:
"I've never done a memory charm before!"
and then Hermione goes "Nor have I but I know the theory!"

but surly she did a memory charm (obliviate?) on her parents when she sent them to Australia to make them forget her!
