harry potter Pregunta

Book glitch o memory glitch? PoA - Time-turner.

In PoA, Dumbledore tells Hermione "three turns should do it" and tells her it's nearly midnight. So, por my reckoning... They should re-start time at around 9ish.

So why do they end up at 7:30???

If there's something wrong with my logic o memory, please tell me... I'm actually confusing myself with this now, it's driving me nuts!

Uhm... The ever-trusted and relied upon Wikipedia... And I'll admit, a rather large amount of presumption...

Well Hermione did say that it took them exactly 3 hours back. And I'm not sure what Dumbledore dicho what time it was. I would look it up in the book, but I don't have it. Maybe that's something tu could ask J.K. Rowling.

**Edit**

OK! So I got the answer. Me and my friend discussed it this morning. So Dumbledore says it's NEARLY midnight, meaning that it could be 11:30 and if the Time Turner takes them bac three hours, then they will end up at 7:30(or somewhere near there). YAY! I solved it:D

11.30 minus 3 hours is 8.30 not 7.30, an hora is quite a big difference. Also i doubt there was a half hora before it was midnight as when they are returning, they hear the chiming of the clock as its turning twelve, so there is at least an hora and a half thats is unaccounted for

i dicho somewhere near there. And when the clock rings,it doesn't mean that it was midnight. It could mean that it was another time. I don't know, that's my opionion.

Both. You've gotten the movie and the libros mixed up, my dear.

In the book, Dumbledore says it's "five minutos to midnight. Three turns should do it." (393) Then, as they are listening to themselves go down the front steps and off to Hagrid's, Hermione asks, "why did he tell us to go back three hours?." (396). It never tells the actual time, they just keep saying, "three hours."

However in the movie, it's near midnight when Dumbledore locks them in (and when they return) and Hermione specifically says, "7:30. Where were we at 7:30?" It was a glitch (since the directors didn't realize that three turns does indeed equal three hours), but not a book glitch.
