They had the potential to have just as much depth, but because there wasn't too much story line about the characters, they didn't go the farthest they could've.

No they don't there really is nothing to them. they don't have flaws Clumsiness dose not count. and in the book all bella did was talk about Edward. Nothing depth about that. There background stories are poorly written and not descent at all.

^You're pretty much just referring to Bella's character though. Rosalie and Jasper had promise; so did Leah. But there just wasn't any exploration to them.

I have to say it depends on who your talking about. I think Carlisle, and Esme have a little bit more love and current situations then what the main characters Bella, Edward, and Jacob have.

LIKE:
Carlisle, his father hunted vampires since the dawn of time. He lived and grew up to know vampires were monsters and hated the living. When he was turned, he was disgusted with himself and wanted to die. He actually tried suicide by starving himself of blood but couldn't bare it much longer. So when he found of he could live on the blood of animals he knew he could live with the mortals and not be this..killer of the human life. He suffered from loneliness, and when he joined the Volturi he watched the pain of being a monster once more, watching them. He then moved on to being a medical assistant. he became a Doctor and knew he wanted to be this. it made him happy to help others, to help the humans, to be among them.

Esme was 16 when she first met Carlisle. she had broken her leg after playing around. She felt a strong connection between her and Carlisle when the first saw each other. but then she grew older and never saw him again. she got married but her husband was abusive, so she ran away, she was pregnant at the time. when her first baby died, she got really depressed so she jumped off a cliff. when people found her, they thought she was going to die anyway so they left her at a morgue. Carlisle scented her out and took her to his home. He already changed Edward at the time. Carlisle changed her and taught her his way of living. Him and her knew they had loved each other right away. So they got "Married" and eventually 'adopted' the Cullen children.

so i think Twilight would have been better if it was in their perspective. But i still love the books. (And even though im a huge fan, i do admit there are flaws..and no just because im a teenage girl doesn't mean i go all crazy and is some immature fan girl dissing on HP cause like i said a bazillion times im a HUGE fan of HP too. So ill admit HP has flaws as well.)

ANYHOO

yeah like i said, when it comes to this, i say 'some characters have depth, and no just because the main character Bella doesn't have much, doesn't mean the whole book doesn't have some. And HP has some too. to me there even...if you would look at Twilight beside the Bella, Edward, Jacob thing.

There are character's that have depth (Carlisle, Rosalie, Jasper, Alice) and characters that have the potential to have depth (Leah, Seth, Edward, Jacob, Charlie) but it's not even close to the amount the HP characters have.

some twilight characters had depth lol to an extent, but their stories just weren't talked about enough to give them enough depth to truly stand out.
having said that no they dont have as much depth as hp characters, mostly because s meyer didnt work on them enough to give them the necessary depth, with hp even background characters like tonks and moody so on have depth

Well in Harry Potter, nearly every single character has a back story, they all have their own wikipedia pages after all. in Twilight, some characters just disappear, most of them you know nothing about them, they're just there because they are, they have no reason behind them, unlike Harry Potter characters.

I think "BLUEBERRY" either means "sort of, some have depth." Otherwise, it just means blueberry.
