So, tu like Harry Potter? What about Twilight?
I've read (and watched) them both.
When I was twelve I picked up a paper back cover of "Twilight" at the airport for something to read on my plane ride home. I did become quite infatuated with the series, tearing through the second, third and fourth books. I went on this fan club on my old account (which I have long since abandoned) and talked trash about Harry Potter, and talked about how wonderful Twilight was. I talked about Twilight like it was my Bible, and mocked Harry Potter (which I knew siguiente to nothing about). However, when I was thirteen, I picked up Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone, just to see what all of the fuss was about. I immediately fell in amor with the series, staying up all hours of the night just to find out what would happen next. I began to realize how flat and shapeless the storyline of the Twilight Saga really was. It amazed me, time and time again how much foreshadowing was spread through out the whole Harry Potter series, and how predictable Twilight was. I saw the depth in every aspect of Harry Potter, aspects that Twilight lacked. My Twihard phase was snuffed out after lectura book one of Harry Potter (BELIEVE ME. I was a Twilight addict, the kind they make fun of on "Vampires Suck") and I can say that I won't ever reach for the black and red volumes of Twilight again.

cassie-1-2-3 Perhaps it's a useful antidote if you find your "addiction" a problem. Though trading one "addiction" for another has never really worked out for anyone. If you're trying to give advice, I have to say this won't work for everyone, and not everyone needs to be cured. If you're simply sharing your personal experience, I'm glad you've found something you love.

11Anime_Fool I used the term "addict" in an attempt to not offend anyone by calling them a "Twihard." That's all. I really like Harry Potter, so if I mentioned being "addicted" to Harry Potter, I will go back and fix it. I'm simply trying to say that after reading the Harry Potter series it is very difficult for me to appreciate a story that's as flat lined as Twilight. and yes, I am partially sharing personal experience, I have found a series I can be *healthily* in love with.

emilyroxx My parents had to take away my Twilight books because they said that I was getting too obsessed with them. I'm not ALMOST as obsessed with HP as I was with Twilight and my parents encourage it. Twilight, they said, caused me to 'freak out' as they put it. During my Twilight-obsessed phase, I would talk about nothing else but Twilight, and if someone bad-mouthed it, I would ATTACK them. Trust me, they might both be obsessions, but Twilight is 100x more unhealthy an obsession than Harry Potter, Cassie.

wotcher-tonks I had an un-healthy obsession too...Used to bad-mouth Harry Potter an everything! I got pissed, and I mean PISSED when I heard Vampires Suck came out. My brothers would make fun of me when I read Twilight and I would start attacking them. Harry was MY cure too. I stopped liking Twilight the instant I read the first word of Harry Potter. Now, I understand that some people don't like what I do. Now I gotz me a healthy obsession ;) I'm getting rid of my Twilight books now, I'm sort of ashamed to have them on my shelf. (Personal reasons, memories of being such a psycho fan.)

youknowit101 That sounds like growing up instead of being cured by books for all of you. It looks like this only happens to kids who read Twilight when they're young, then read harry Potter when they're older. The main factor is that you're older and you're better at coping with excitement.

youknowit101 At your age you are learning how to cope with excitement. If you still get pissed when somebody doesn't like Harry Potter, then I'll agree that you haven't matured. That's a question you'll have to answer for yourself.

I was a twilight fan when I was 13 and used to hate Harry Potter that changed when my friend dragged me to see OotP and I saw Bellatrix that's when I decided to give the books another chance. I loved them. But I still didnt dislike twilight then, I started disliking it when everything became about it. All the "hey isn't twilight awesome" twilight this twilight that got annoying. It became so popular that they made twilight underpants! That's what did it for me lol.

lostandhp4ever I think it´s great when people read both of them. Because I hate it when someone says Twilight sucks and never reads Twilight and doesn´t even know why Twilight sucks. Or when someone says that Harry Potter sucks and never reads HP and doesn´t really know Harry Potter. So I think it´s great that you read both books to make your own opinion. And yeah you are right Harry Potter is much better ;-)

Everyone knows Rowling and Meyer's stance on fanfiction and the fact both writers have dado a thumbs up of sorts. However, there is something I don't think either one of them would of approve of and it involves those Reading the Books a lot of people are supposedly writing. I say supposedly escritura because copying from another persons work is not escritura unless tu are quoting under fair use. As tu can tell from my username, I am a huge Harry Potter fan. However, I wasn’t always. I used to be a Twihard (a twilight obsessed fan-girl). In fact I was one during the early stages of puberty, which is the age where most Twitards fall into the ‘romantic’ trap.

I don't want to hear about Harry Potter o any other book right now. I'm not setting this up for a debate about which is better. I just want to know seriously and honestly why tu Twilight fans enjoy lectura Twilight. I want to see an actual reason that Twilight is a good book.
If tu don't like Twilight, I don't want to hear tu saying anything bad about it. I just want to know why people like it. Because all the debate's I've seen have no actual reasons. They have HP fans and Twihards going on about which book is better, but not why they like it.
I do actually want respectful debate though. I want to discuss the reasons tu give, but nicely.

A lot of debates is going on about who would win, if Harry and Edward got in a fight o duel.
This is understandable since it summerize the whole wizards vs. vampiros thing.
I will try to be objective and analize their chances fair.

1.Physical abilitys
Harry is, besides his magic, a human. He trains Quidditch and he is not exactly out of form, but he just doesn`t have what it takes to break trees in half and stop rushing cars. He can die because of wounds.
Edward on the other hand, is incredebly strong and fast (and cold and never eats and we all know what he is - a vampire). He CAN break trees...

Twilighters escritura in CAPITOL LETTERS

Is it just me, o does it seem like most of the Twilight fans feel that they have to write in capitol letters to get their points across? Personally i find it really annoying.

It's also a fact that if tu write in capitol letters IT TAKES LONGER FOR THE BRAIN TO PROCESS THE INFORMATION and therefore takes longer to read. Originally all the road signs (In England anyway) were written in capitol letters, until they were redone and someone found that smaller case letters were quicker to read. So they changed it.

So siguiente time tu feel like shouting because your book sucks, don't write in capitols, but put...
*shouting*... at the begining of your speech.
