I have a pregunta for Harry Potter fans, Why do most of tu ask "why?" when someone says they like Twilight.I was looking at preguntas today and when someone says they Like Twilight there is always a comment.Asking "why?"

Because saying "Edward's hot" isn't a very good debate. Us Potheads say "We like Harry Potter better, because he has personality, flaws, loyalty...ect." We'd like people to explain their answer/opinion.

There are Twilight fans who are logical enough to give respuestas that does not make them shallow and weird. But yes. I do want to know what is so great about the series.
tu can neither relate to anyone in it nor does it make a good amor story. As tu put it, people like it because someone o the other is HAWT o whatever. It really shows that these libros portray beauty above all else is THE most important thing to have a perfect life.
It chucks women's liberation right out the window through which Edward sneaks in. It is demeaning and degrading to stick up for a book just because the MALE characters are hot.

I've never asked people why they like Twilight, I've just asked them why they think it's better than Harry Potter. I mean, tu can like something for no reason at all. But if you're saying it's better than something else, tu need a reason. Face it, the fact that tu like something just doesn't make it the best thing on earth.
I have no problem with people liking Twilight. But, I do have a problem with people saying it's better than HP ;)

I've seen that too. But what no one asks o I've never seen is why do tu like the harry potter libros so much? If Twilight fans constantly have to defend their opinion why don't some harry potter fans tell about why the like harry potter?

Yeah, I've noticed that . . . I mean, I amor Harry Potter and my fellow Potterfans, but sometimes we do overreact.
Like the other day, there was some pregunta saying "HP o Twilight?" o something of that sort. A Twilighter replied "I amor Twilight!" o something and it seemed as though a Potterfan immeadiately jumped on the opprotunity to ask, "Why? Because Edward is hot?" The pregunta didn't ask for tu to support your answer, and there were plenty of respuestas saying "Go Harry Potter!", etc. I think that we shouldn't automatically attack a Twilighter like that, tu know what I mean?
Sigh . . . I read over this and see that I've explained everything SO well (sarcasm) . . . ignore me if tu don't get what I just dicho . . .

For me personally, I'm actually curious to why it's it their favorito! book series. If tu make a point into saying "Oh, it's the best book ever!" I'd want to know why. But only if they haven't dado a reason in the first place.

I wonder what makes it so great to others, since I honestly can't stand the series.

Because almost no Twilight fan has ever dado me a good reason for WHY they like Twilight. They'll just say something like "Rob is so HOT!" o "Cuz it's amazing!" o something like that. It also annoys me that we almost never get any Twilight fan comentarios on picks o anything explaining WHY they picked that option. We want to know their opinions too, tu know.

It's like they honestly avoid the pregunta o don't answer it completely, even when we're just asking them streight-forwardly.

Why? Because a simple and empty statement of "I like Twilight." practically begs on it's bare knees to be elaborated. Statements such as these leaves the audience baffled and it doesn't aid a debate at all. This also applies to similarily empty statements everywhere.

Because we don't understand how someone can like something we find so rubbish. It condradicts everything logical.

I understand the reasons for liking Twilight, I used to like it too. Twilight, like any work of fiction, is a form of escapism. That's why people like it and read it. Also, Bella's lack of personality makes it very easy for the reader to become her and have a supposedly perfect, sparkly boyfriend.

When I ask why, it's why they think Twilight is better than Harry Potter, not just why they like it. I already know the reasoning from the Harry Potter side of the debate, as that is the side I'm on, so why would I bother asking them for reasons? I'd actually like to get some debates started up on this spot, so I guess that's why I ask.

Twilighters are all perfectly within their rights to ask us for explanations if we haven't dado real reasons, o if they can prove us wrong in our arguments. In fact, if we had some Twilight fans who wanted to debate our reasons, I would be very happy to debate.

Well, when a human being asks 'why' most of the time it means the he/she wants a reason.

And surely no one will like anything without a reason, right?

Maybe the Harry Potter are getting sick with all those people who likes Twilight without any reason.. :))

Because though I don't like the series, myself, I'd llike to know why others do. Because Potheads give detailed reasons as to why they like HP, but I've rarely seen a Twilighter say why they like Twilight, apart from "OOH JASPER OOH EDWARD OOOOOOOOOOOH JACOB!" which I really hate.

What I hate the most is when Twihards always bash Harry Potter, yes, Twihards do bash Twilight like saying its only good for the fuego but when telling people to die because we don't like twilight.. umm.. a bit over the top.

I want to know why they like this book, because I can come up with no reasons as to why anyone would like it myself.

opinion: something people should value and not bash.

Because we potheads are curious and confused. We don't like Twilight and we like reasonable reasons as to why others worship it. We give detailed reasons (if they aren't stated in our answers/comments then tu can be sure we'll have them ready when tu ask us why)we like what we do and want reasons in return.

I ask because I'm curious (and it's never just Twilight, I ask this of everyone who says they have a favorito! series and doesn't give any reason). I want to know. o spark a debate, if I'm in the mood.
