P R O l O G U E
I want tu to name me a place where a king plans a war against his own daughter. Where the mention of your little sister's name strikes fear into the hearts of your enemies. Name a place where your best friend threatens to break your arm if tu tell anyone what he's hiding; a place where tu don't know who to trust. Give me a place where magic exists; where the Stars walk amongst Mortals. The place where people will do anything to get what they want.
I know of such a place: the world of Imbroglio.
~About 2 million years hace in the año 3,000,576 on the planet Sinipre~
The sun was blazing down on that hot summer afternoon, that afternoon when history was made. The Stars and Ispirare were walking side-by-side at this time as equals.
A young man thundered through the crowded streets of Morina screaming at the parte superior, arriba of his lungs with sweat pouring down his brow.
"I've killed the estrella queen Shaula!" His corazón was pounding so hard he thought it would pound right out of his chest, but he kept on raving.
Bystanders stared at the young man as he pushed his way through the crowd and wondered what madness he was shouting. He scrambled up on parte superior, arriba of a statue in the middle of the street. A sudden breeze blew back his already wind-tussled blonde hair as he grinned imagining the reaction he would get whenever everyone heard the news.
He stood on the pedestal of the copper statue and held onto the metal reins of the horse that reared up towards the sky. The copper, heated por the afternoon sun, burned his hands, but he was too wrapped up in his triumph to care. Tilting as far to the left as possible, the man repeated his announcement from before; a maniacal glint sweeping through his large, coffee colored eyes.
"I have killed queen Shaula! I have killed the estrella Queen!"
His shouts echoed along the square in the bright and colorful city. The día seemed too happy for an assassination to have just occurred.
The curious passersby gathered around him. They held up their hands to block the glare of The día estrella that shone above them in the sky. por now, the young man had garnered a lot of attention. All eyes stared up at him, waiting to hear what he had to say.
"I have killed the estrella Queen!"
All the Stars froze in disbelief. queen Shaula had ruled since the beginning of time when the Imbroglian Empire was formed which was well over five million years ago. The Ispirare had mixed feelings as well. Whispers flooded through the crowd.
Immediately, sides were drawn. Some gave out great cheers alongside the man and glorified him. These were the ones who felt that it was time for a change in sovereignty. Others cried out in anger and fear.
Soon, a riot broke out. People yelled and screamed; children cried. Stars and Ispirare threw whatever they could get their hands on, there were fistfights, and there was death.
The young man managed to escape the mob almost completely unscathed. He stared at the fighting mass of people for a moment, and then ran. He ran away from the chaos that he had just induced.
He darted into an alleyway and threw his back against a building. He took in deep breaths trying to regain his strength as he stood there leaning against the building. He snapped his fingers and the young man's face he wore began to change. His hair grew snow white and his eyes turned crimson. He had done a fine job with his mask and he knew as much.
He laughed.
He laughed hysterically at the pain and sorrow that he had just now inflicted into the world.
Out of the man's back, he grew a pair of large, pure white wings and lifted into the sky in order to return to his new kingdom.
It was on this historic día that all of the Stars returned to Imbroglio, the land in the sky. And not only did the immortal Stars tear themselves away from the Ispirare, they tore apart from each other. They división, split into two sides: The Light and The Dark.
The Light believed that they could still find goodness in Ispirare, despite the corruption of a select few. The Dark thought otherwise. They believed that the only way that to preserve Imbroglio was to kill off all of the Ispirare and destroy The Light. But as the years passed and time and time again The Light sent Stars to Sinipre to try and purify the Ispirare, they eventually gave up on them as well. Going to Sinipre was a punishment for a Star. Even The Dark seemed better off than the Mortals.
However, the problems didn't just end there.
A few chose neither side. They neither agreed with The Light nor agreed with The Dark. They couldn't be relied on for their loyalty to either side so they were soon turned away. No one would accept them; the Nameless Stars, as they came to be known.
Incensed por the rejection from both sides, the Nameless formed their own side: The Shadows. The Shadows were más dangerous than either The Light o The Dark because they trusted no one and no one trusted them. There was no way to tell on whose side the Shadows plotted.
For millennia to come, Stars learned that the Light and the Dark could never coexist. Neither could Stars and Ispirare.
