German Shepherds Pregunta

German shepherd lovers- please can tu help:

I amor german shepherds, and i have always wanted one. i know all about them and what's involved with owning one, but the problem is that i have lots of gatos and i'm worried that if i get a GS i might come inicial one día and find it has killed one of them o something, because i know that they can be ferocious sometimes. i know that if tu buy a GS as a perrito, cachorro so that it gets used to gatos then it will probably be okay but i'm just a bit worried because tu read in the papers about really nice perros suddenly turning and attacking, and my gatos wouldn't stand a chance if that happened. i've looked after other people's german shepherds and i know everything there is to know about the perros themselves, the only problem is the cats. i don't know what to do about my situation.
does anyone have any ideas?
is your german shepherd OK with cats?

Thanks xx
Lottie

if they grow up together o just mainly if the gs grows up with a cat then it should be fine because then they will be used to it
i kno its not the same but i have a st.bernaird/lab mix and he grew up with gatos and the only thing he does and rarely does is chase and if he does he gets in trouble so u can also teach your dog not to mess with them if they do they get in trouble

I think maybe tu could leave your gatos inside and the gs outside. That's what i would do.

Well, I have a Pit toro not a GS, but I think they're cool all the same and I think if tu get it as a perrito, cachorro and keep it in a fenced off area for a while that he/she will slowly but surely grow around cats...

I had one German Shepherd that we found as a adult and he LOVED my three cats, he even cuddled with them, but it all depends on the dog, so i would get it as cachorritos and have it socialize with the gatos at a very early age, hope i could help! :)

The cat that I had always slept and barley moved (zombie cat), so it didn't bother my GS. If tu have a hyper cat, it MIGHT try to play of bite it. But I've never seen one attack a cat. Just birds D: I don't think it'll do any harm to them at all.
