I've cheered her on on occasion - including the golden crown scene - but I've never been Team Dany. Her book chapters drag on forever, and in the show, she's always just so determined to be determined for the sake of being determined. (I hope that sentence makes more sense than S8. =P)

^Lol

Have said this elsewhere, but she lost me in the books when she sat her arse in Meereen for 1000 PAGES, made terrible decisions, and just generally portrayed an absolute lack of ability to plan any further into the future than ten seconds. Her chapters in ADWD... I was blown away that someone could write so much and have absolutely nothing happen. I was convinced that Dany and her dragons would never, ever, ever get moving from Meereen. She was the main reason it took me about 8 months to finish that damn book.

Somewhere in that mess she killed all the Masters in collective reprisal and without an ounce of procedural fairness. So yeah about here.

Her chapters do seem longer than the others, or maybe it's just because I find her sort of boring. I did cheer her on now and again in the beginning, simply because I thought she was the rightful heir. But as soon as Jon seemed more likely to be the heir I didn't really give a damn about her anymore (I'm a bit like Varys that way - Jon would make the better ruler by far XD) She annoyed me especially in the last couple of seasons; especially since Tyrion, one of the best characters IMO, has been increasingly sidelined since he started to serve her. The show has made him look so inept and naive this season - completely out of character. And I've done a complete U-turn on Sansa. I used to hate her (not the most popular opinion, I know), but she's been one of my favourites this season; especially when she shades Dany. XD

@ThePrincessTale I effing hate the Mereen stuff, both in the book and on the show. I honestly thought she'd never sail for Westeros. Now that she has, I wish she'd stayed in Mereen and had the Great Pyramid collapse on top of her after Drogon starts to fire up the city in frustration at being stuck in Essos. If death by falling masonry is deemed a fitting end for my favourite love-to-hate character, Cersei, then it's good enough for the Collector of Titles too! XD

When she burnt the Tarlys

Just wondering if anyone else noticed how the feast in episode 4 seemed like a call back to Season 1 episode 6; with Dany in Winterfell pretty much in the same head space as Viserys had been in Vaes Dothrak? As Viserys had in Vaes Dothrak, Dany in Winterfell felt like an outsider with a sense of great entitlement and deep resentment, when she realised that no matter what she did, the North - and by extension Westeros itself - would never love her or accept her like they did Jon, just as Viserys knew that he'd never be loved like Dany. It would be interesting to see her POV (which we're never likely to see) and her realisation that this was what her brother had felt when she was being cheered and lauded by the Dothraki. Also, it's interesting to note their different reactions to the situations. If Jorah had let Viserys leave with the dragon eggs, he'd have gone quietly and let Dany be. When he did give up the eggs he responded by getting drunk and making - what I believe - were drunken, empty threats. On the other hand, Dany simply seethed and grew more paranoid. Which is why I think Viserys was basically an ''all mouth and no trousers'' character. No threat at all, really, whereas we all know now what Dany (show Dany, at least) is.

I always found her completely overrated and a terrible ruler but LOVED the feminist moments.

Around s6, I just started disliking her.

I'm still a Daenerys fan and I really dgaf. Some of the same people that have been shitting on Dany for ages, STILL love and defend Cersei's evil ass so I really just don't care.

I always liked Dany, and cheered for her more than once. I don't know if I was ever Team Dany, as I wanted her on the throne, because I never truly wanted her on the throne. Because I didn't want that kind of ending. She became so power-lust, but I think my true turning point was when she burnt the Tarlys. And how cold she told Sam about it too! That's when I went NOPE! I'm done.

This was my red flag, but in retrospect, I should’ve turned on her when she killed Mirri. But after the crucifixion I did a major double take and was like “Wait a second..... she’s not the hero....”

When she had Mirri Maz Duur...
AudreyFreak picked When she had Mirri Maz Duur burnt.:
Cersei doesn't pretend to be a good person while doing evil, like the one you're defending, xoheart.

Anyway I was never exactly Team Targ because as a whole they're objectively terrible rulers, this is definitely when she took a distinctly dark turn and I can't believe almost nobody is horrified by it. I guess because the show blamed and villainized Mirri but even then, it was am unnecessarily brutal death and it was Drogo's own fault the medicine didn't work.

Also, burning a slave alive while preaching an anti-slavery ideology is a bad look.
