Great classic characters that continue to be great
Great classic characters that continue to be great
Sorry for the long delay in this interview but many things have gotten in the way. However, it seems that even with the temptation that many fanfiction writers give into of escritura the characters in a bias way, cruella has managed to keep her personal feelings from getting in the way. Now only did she win this round in this contest but she won it in the last contest as well with these same characters. Without anymore delay, here is my interview with cruella.

How does it feel to not only win this round but to win a round tu won in the last contest?
It feels great, to have won it not once but twice. As tu all know, I am a big fan of the Mickey and Friends/DuckTales characters, so it feels really good to know that I’m good at escritura about them and keeping them in character.

Besides Scrooge, who you've dicho is the hardest character to write in these stories, who is the character you'd say was the hardest to write? (Why)
That’s a hard question. I guess I have to say Minnie is segundo hardest. While she’s nowhere near as complex as Scrooge, but she still has más depth than most people think and also requires a balance. For example, she is intended to be a role-model and one of the less flawed characters, but tu need to mostrar her flaws sometimes o she ends up looking like mary-sue. Probably her most notable flaw is her passiveness (especially with Daisy) but tu to be careful how far tu go with that o she looks like a total doormat.

Who was the easiest character to write? (Why)
I’d say Huey, Dewey and Louie. Like I’ve mentioned before their pretty much your standard, one-dimensional, adventurous, prankster kids; so there’s really not much that goes into escritura them.

Was escritura the characters in True Treasure any different from escritura them in Pageant Pandemonium, since there is a change in environment?
Yes, it was definitely different. For some characters, like Scrooge and Webby, it was easier to write about them in that situation, than it was to write about them in Pageant Pandemonium. That’s mostly due to the fact that they’ve been in a lot más adventures, than stories about fashion and beauty pageants, so it’s easier to know how they would react to things in True Treasure. Characters like Minnie and margarita on the other hand were a lot harder to write about in True Treasure since there are very few stories about them in those situations.

You write quite a bit of fanfiction about the Mickey ratón and friends characters, particularly concerning Scrooge, Webby, and Minnie. Do tu try to give them new lessons to learn to keep it from being repetitive?
Yeah, I’ve always tried to keep from repeating the same lesson, I hate when that’s done in a series o sequels. That’s not to say that characters flaws won’t get the best of them sometimes and they will need to be reminded of something they already learned o know. But when tu look at the major lessons in the two stories I’ve written they’re very different.

Besides Scrooge, who was the most fun to write? (Why)
Probably Webby. Like Minnie, she has a lot más depth then people give her credit for, despite being the token chick. She’s an adventurous, girly girl, who has been shown to be más competent than the boys. Unfortunately she wasn’t dado as much screen time because she wasn’t very popular. So it’s a lot of fun to explore her potentials and develop her character further.

Who was the most boring to write? (Why)
Huey, Dewey and Louie, again, there’s really not much to them.

Are there any particular stand out personal touches tu add to the characters while trying to stay true to them?
Scrooge and Minnie’s relationship is one thing that definitely has my touch. While it is true that they’re sometimes shown as being good friends, their relationship has never been the focus of a story. Also I’ve probably made them closer then they’ve ever been portrayed as being, since, as they both state in True Treasure, they have a father/daughter relationship.

A personal touch that seems odd but surprisingly works very well

Were there ever times when escritura your story that tu came close to (or were tempted) letting personal feelings about the characters get in the way?
Oh yes. As much as I’m ashamed to admit it, I not came very close to doing that, I actually did. In my first draft of Pageant Pandemonium, (which I never published because even I knew it was awful) Scrooge was total gary-stu and Huey, Dewey, Louie and margarita were completely demonized. In True Treasure while my escritura had improved, I was still tempted at times to a write character based on my personal feelings.

Which of your stories do tu feel (overall) the characters are truer to their personalities, True Treasure o Pageant Pandemonium?
I’d definitely say True Treasure. Like I mentioned, in the first draft of Pageant Pandemonium I did let my feeling about the characters show, and while the final draft was cleaned up a lot I can still see places where my like/dislike of them comes through. Not to mention, Mickey is arguable out of character, with video-game addiction and jealously of Minnie spending time with Scrooge.

Random question, but assuming tu haven't already, what kind of story would tu come up with for a fanfic where the villain is Magica De Spell?
That’s a hard question. I have thought about stories with her as the villain, but I haven’t had much luck coming up with a solid idea. She’s harder villain to write about, than say Flintheart since she has magical powers which make her a lot harder to defeat.

My favorito! DuckTales episode with her is “Nothing To Fear”. The plot is basically that she makes everybody's worst fears come true until Scrooge hands over his number one dime. The main reason I like it is because it adds a lot depth to Scrooge, like mostrando that one of the big fears is that his nephews only amor him for his money, and mostrando that one of the reasons he’s so stingy is because he’s afraid that child protective service will take the boys away if he doesn’t have the money to care for them. But the episode isn’t without problems, like Webby isn’t in it, and Doofus is there for comic relief. So if I were going to do a story with her I’d probably do a revised version of that episode.

How do tu think Walt disney would react to the way tu wrote his characters?
I don’t know. I think he would like what I’ve done, because I tried to stay true to them. Of course Mickey and his friends were very different back in Walt Disney’s time, so he might hate it.

How do tu think Walt would react to the pre-existing characters that weren't created por him?
Well, while some of the characters like Scrooge, and Minnie and Daisy’s nieces were around in his time I don’t really know about his opinion of them. Then there are others like Webby, Max and Launchpad that were made after he passed away, so of course we have noway of knowing what he would think of them. Again, I think and I hope he would like what I’ve done, because I tried my best to stay true to them.

Are tu proud of the way tu wrote the characters in this story?
Yes. Not to sound arrogant, but I’m very happy with how the I wrote the characters. They’re a lot harder to write than most people think.

When lectura your story now, are there any moments where tu think that so and so character wouldn't act that way o have any regrets?
No. I can’t really think of any, blatantly, out of characters moments off the parte superior, arriba of my head. And I don’t have any regrets as far as keeping them in character.

Part of staying true to the characters is also being able to write their relationships with the other characters in a believable way. Was this hard o easy to do and why?
Some relationships were harder than others. Like Scrooge and Webby’s relationship has never been too hard to write. Even if their relationship wasn't developed the best in DuckTales, they were still shown as having a believable father/daughter type bond, which provides a good reference for escritura about them. But some relationship, like Minnie and Daisy’s were a lot harder, because their friendship honestly never made any sense to me. I mean why does Minnie put up with Daisy’s diva attitude, and why is margarita friends with Minnie when she doesn’t share any of her interests? That’s one of the reasons, aside from the fact that I like him better, that Scrooge has sort of replaced margarita as Minnie’s best friend.

What was the most fun relationship to write?
Scrooge and Minnie’s. Like I dicho in my last interview, I amor developing their relationship. It’s a lot of fun to advance their friendship from a fairly standard close friendship, that is seldom even shown, into something más complex. I’m sure that the few times they were shown to be close weren’t meant to be taken as anything particularly deep. However a close, non-romantic, friendship between two people of the opposite sex, different ages, and social classes is just so unique and has so much potential, it begs to be explored.

What was the least fun relationship to write? (Why)
Of the main characters that would be Minnie and Daisy’s. As much as I think both of them are great characters, I’ve never cared much for their relationship. Like I mentioned it makes no sense and can come across as abusive at times.

You’re also a judge for the contest, so if tu were allowed to vote for yourself, would you? (be honest)
Yes, I would have. Not to sound like a snob, but I amor these characters and I think did a good job portraying them.

Do tu believe tu deserved to win? (be honest)
Yes, I do. Again not to sound like a snob, but I think I did a good job keeping them in character which isn’t easy. But there were other’s who deserved it too.

Like some other rounds she's won in this contest, this is the segundo time she's won the best comic relief round in the Fan-Made disney Sequel Contest. It's not surprising, since her stories are about the classic Mickey ratón and friends characters. It's clear that she knows how to write comedy and understands what made these classic characters so funny to begin with. Without any further delay, here is my interview with cruella for winning the best comic relief.

How does it feel to have won three rounds in the contest so far?

It feels amazing, to know that people think my escritura is good enough...

Well it's time for our siguiente interview with KataraLover, who is no stranger to winning as this happens to be his fifth win! Without further delay let's get to the interview for Best Songs!

Well, how does it feel to have won, yet another, round?
Honestly, at this point I probably shouldn’t be surprised but I’m still really grateful for this. I always get excited like a little kid when people like something I do no matter if it’s with stories I write, pictures I edit, singing, o in this case escritura songs. But I am surprised since I literally wrote my original songs in a día and it was on...
