Yes and no (what an answer lol...) River and the Doctor are not a couple yet. Maybe they're not even a couple in the future, they sure have a strong relationship and it's implied that they kissed several times before (in River's past) but seriously, the Doctor, involved in a serious relationship? Not really his type. He still has strong feelings for Amy and that will never change. Their bond can't be broken, it's HER Doctor, her "raggedy Doctor". It's not even River's Doctor. I do think River is in love/has strong feelings for an "older", a re-generated version of the Doctor.

Even if Moffat has got the Stephenie Meyer Syndrom, he seems to amor playing with the Rory/Amy/11 dynamic, and he likes to tease us with the famous pregunta : is Amy in amor with Eleven?

And anyway, I'm not gonna stop shipping 11/Eleven. Although I do like River/11. (and River/10, and I will surely amor River/12!)

I wouldn't put it past Moffat to make River something else to the Doctor entirely.
and I just can't see the Doctor in a proper relationship anyway, it's just not him.
