Do tu consider Elena to be a good role model?

In some ways yes. We can tell in the mostrar that she cares about her family and would do anything for them, just like she cares about her friends. But we do have to admit she makes mistakes and isn't always perfect, o the best friend, sister etc, but what she does, she does for them and what she thinks it right and will make them feel better; like she got Damon to erase Jeremy's memories so he wouldn't have to go through the pain and she wasn't always there for Bonnie and Caroline, although we know she still cares about them.

As for the books, I think the same and again she isn't always perfect, she's just human.
