I spared Loghains life when I beat him in the duel. It had many ...consequences, but he was worth it. Whatever he did, he did it for Ferelden.
Dammit, he saw the Orlesians rape and kill his mother when he was a boy! This affected his life and his decisions.
I learned to forgive him. I learned to trust him and, after we fought the Archdemon together, I learned to LOVE him. I will defend my grumpy former Teyrn until death! <3
