Why would he? For starters, it's not even confirmed that they were really together. And even if they were, doesn't mean they were going to get married.
Why would he in the first place? The libros never mostrar them as particularly close. Similar, yes, but close? Who knows, really? All we know is that he didn't; a fact I'm not ashamed to say I'm happy about.

I'm relieved he didn't end up with Pansy, too. They don't make a good couple. But then again that might be my Drastoria-biased opinion speaking.
Just because tu fecha someone in high school doesn't really mean that you're going to marry them ^^ Well, tu MIGHT and I've certainly nothing against people doing so, but... it just doesn't happen very often. I think they were más of just a... "fling"...
