Ursula's pretty bland to me, but I do love how fabulous she is during Poor Unfortunate Souls.

I have literally made an article about why I think she is overrated. She does not deserve to be this high. Shan Yu should have made it into the top three, as I think he is severely underrated. Maleficent has been done before and is artificial. You always want your audience to really feel the characters can come to life, but she was flat. I didn't feel her. I felt like she did not come to life and I didn't like the way disney made her. Her concept is great, it could have been done much better. Unfortunately, it wasn't.

Ursala and Gothel on the other hand are more unique and brought to life. I really feel the characters. They didn't just through a scary character design on Ursala and sea serpent mode or whatever to make her look evil. They brought us into her character using actions.

Lol. I love how females are in the top three! I think Ursula and Maleficent are better villains kind of. I don't really have a reason.

Maleficent and Ursula are more memorable to me.

When it comes to badass design, Maleficent beats Ursula. When it comes to having an interesting motivation and some layers, Gothel beats Ursula. So Ursula is it. The most interesting part of her is her song.

I don't even know why people like her so much.

Soo hard. I love these three. But I'll pick Ursula since I think Mother Gothel and Maleficent are better.

I love Maleficent, but her role in Sleeping Beauty seemed a little bland and I preferred the 2014 live-spin off.

I thought she was a boring flat villainess with no depth, humanity or proper motivation when I was a kid. I thought she was just another "evil for the sake of evil" villains that we all complain about. Then people got it in their head that she was the best Disney villain at some point, and I just don't get it.

Mother Gothel is like the updated Evil Queen from Snow White. She's also extremely vain and cares only about staying young, but she also has personality, flare, a sense of humor, and some real depth and ambiguously caring moments.

Ursula is just fun, funny and interesting. Her voice actress described her as being part Shakespearean actress, part lawyer, and part used-car saleswoman. And it shows. She has so much flare, style, and personality. She's cruel and sadistic, but enjoyably hammy. She's vengeful and wants power, but can crack plenty of jokes along the way. She's the bane of her clients' existence, but genuinely loves her "little poopsies," which gives her a bit of humanity and depth when they die.

She's not just ANOTHER "evil for the sake of evil" villain who's evil to everyone and cruel to her henchmen for no reason other than being evil. That's Maleficent to me.
