Well apparently she wasn't needed that much because she ended up leaving anyway.

Well, if I were in her shoes I would've stayed...I am VERY close with my family (especially my Mama)and I know I couldn't live very far away from them.

Yeah, I am the one who needs my family. I had thought of leaving my family to live in a far away place with someone I had a crush on but in reality, I know I can't be separated from them.

As this particular question regards the conclusion to the movie Pocahontas, and not necessarily the sequel, I framed my answer as to what I, personally, would have done in her situation. This was a really difficult question and I can't say for certain that I am satisfied with my answer.

On the one hand, by going with John to England, I would be leaving behind my family and everything I am used to and comfortable with and traveling into the unknown while staking my future on the love of a man I truly don't know that much about. It does appear to be love when he was here in the Americas with me, but what happens when the situation is flipped and we're back in his territory among his people? Will he still love me then?

On the other hand, if I stayed behind, in a place that I felt comfortable and at home in, I would always wonder if we could have been together forever. I would have wondered if he truly loved me, or if it was something temporary. I also might have pondered whether or not I could have helped my own people by representing them on the other side of the world; standing up for them against the people who would seek to wipe them out or enslave them. But, I probably would have been content to remain where I was as it was a place I knew well.
