Pocahontas has a bunch of different characteristice that blend quite well together. I think that's why she's probably the most fun princess to analyze. John Smith is kinda meh and his character development is really contrived.

^ I couldn't have said it better myself. Pocahontas is both reserved and playful and both wise and reckless. I love her so much. She is my 2nd favorite official Disney princess. I like John's adventurous spirit, but it isn't enough to beat out Pocahontas. :)

I actually find Pocahontas herself bland, despite having strong character traits. John is a lot more likeable to me.
