Definitely. With Tiana and Naveen, at least Naveen is the naive one while Tiana isn't innocent , with Anna and Kristoff, they are both virgins and Anna is portrayed as wrong. Rupenzel is this innocent naive pure little girl and Flynn is seen as morally wrong in the beginning (although I do like them as a couple).I love how in Hercules, Hercules is actually the "purer one''.

I don't think Rapunzel and Eugene represent this trope, because I wouldn't say he's morally inferior. He has made bad choices in life and he's egoistical and a bit rude to her, but he is also very kind since the beginning (he used to read stories in an orphanage to younger children).

On the other hand, Prince Naveen... My current opinion on him isn't the highest. I'm not sure he learned his lesson about using women. He was willing to trick Charlotte in a loveless marriage, after all, just so Tiana could afford her restaurant and they could both be restored to their human forms.

actually, Belle and Beast and Poca and John 100000000x.

but these two next. Naveen is portrayed as always wrong. a lazy, selfish playboy and incorruptible Tiana can do anything better than him (anything that matters anyway, dancing not being one of those things). She's morally and intellectually superior, just like Belle.

Rapunzel is DEFINITELY portrayed as better than Flynn at stuff, but not in a moral way. we're supposed to feel sorry for Flynn and the movie obviously wanted all girls to fall in love with him, unlike Naveen, who is supposed to be seen as handsome obviously but is a buttmonkey and a cartoonish foil to idealized Tiana.

yeah, I'd say Belle and Beast. Poca and John maybe, but Poca isn't really 'morally superior' because she is constantly sneaking out and loves someone she's not supposed to.

Tiana literally is constantly insulting Naveen for being morally inferior and Naveen tells Tiana she's basically too good. Too "stick-in-the-mud". I guess they're supposed to be teaching each other, but it doesn't really come across that way.

Rapunzel and Flynn? Definitely. Anna and Kristoff- yeah, I suppose but not as strongly.

BTW, @AudreyFreak- Charlotte was just as bad as Naveen. She didn't really care about love, never mentions it. Just wants a "prince" to marry because she's so obsessed with living a fairy tale wedding. She and Naveen would definitely use each other, but I want to make it clear that Charlotte is just as shallow.

Belle and the Beast are the definition of this trope.

The others aren't as bad. Eugene is portrayed in a light that almost as pure and wonderful as Rapunzel, while we can clearly see where Tiana and Anna go wrong.

I cant believe I forgot Beauty and the Beast! I guess my mind was just involved with the modern. While Pocahontas is seem as the wiser one, I dont find her very pure fof some reason.

At least the movie presents Tiana as being wrong in some things as well and generally they don't portray as a saint. Actually, I agree with everyone who said that Belle and the Beast and Poca and John Smith are basically the definition of this trope. And because she looks too sexy, I guess Poca doesn't pass for very pure, but I'm pretty sure she is.

Eh, Kristoff was just gross; he didn't necessarily have bad morals. As for Flynn, he made bad decisions, but yeh. Naveen fits morally inferior to a T.

By far. Tiana isn't that innocent and Kristoff isn't that jerk comparing to other two guys.
