Honestly I don't care. I think it looks cooler when she's marketed as a mermaid, but her dream was always to be human, so it makes sense that they should market her as a human. I like it both ways.

That was the whole point of the movie, her fans tend to forget. she DOESN'T want to stay a mermaid. but Disney knows people love her for being a mermaid so that's how they sell her a lot, despite her dream and the ending.
