I love this one because people tend to forget that Mulan NEVER wanted to be a guy to feel better about herself nor does she represent a "tansgender" character because dressing up as a man was not her goal or something she did in order to feel content, she did it first and foremost to save her father and later decided to remain in the army to prove herself, because that was what she wanted. Had she had a chance to reveal her identity without the risk of getting killed/executed, she would have in a heartbeat, but the outdated values of the society and it's prejudices and perceptions held her back.
