Moana follows the adventure of spirited teenager Moana Waialiki (set to be Disney's first Polynesian princess) who sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfill her ancestors’ unfinished quest. Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast South Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped — and no one today knows why.

During her journey, she meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), and together, they traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous fiery creatures and impossible odds.

Moana and Tui

Like most of the modern era disney Princess movies, Moana will be CG-Animated. The film is to be directed por John Musker and Ron Clements, who were both the directors of Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and The Princess and the Frog. This will be Musker and Clements' first fully computer-animated film.

Moana is a musical film produced por Walt disney animación Studios and distributed por Walt disney Pictures. It is slated por disney to be the 56th film in the disney animated feature canon. The film will be released after Zootopia but before Gigantic. The current release fecha of the film is November 23rd 2016.

The confirmed cast lista currently includes Dwayne Johnson. Two confirmed animal characters are a bird named Hei Hei and a pig named Pua. There will also be a character named Tui, who is the chief (presumably of Moana's island).

Many fans have praised the diseño of the main character Moana Waialiki for having más realistic body proportions. Moana will also bring some long awaited diversity to the princess line-up, as the last four princesses have all been Caucasian.

laylastepford Yay! I'm excited! I cant wait for this new princess. I just don't really like the use of the term "more realistic body proportions". I think it's insulting to all of the little girls who are real and are built like the princess who came out before this one. If they want to say more "diverse" then that would be more appropriate but saying realistic comes off that the other women must not be real. For those girls with Asian Indian etc. genetics, they cannot help it if they are born with smaller body proportions and I don't think insulting one group of women to make another group of women feel better is the right way to go. Just an opinion.

Annabethandco Some clarification then. Look at Ariel's hips and waist. Nobody could physically survive with hips that small. They'd die. That's whats meant by more realistic body proportions. It's not insulting anyone who is skinny. Its trying to promote a healthy lifestyle. Those little girls you mentioned get THIRTEEN PRINCESSES. Now slightly thicker girls hope to get just one. You have no reason to be insulted :)

I made an updated version not long ago, but within what, two weeks it was outdated again. Rediscovering Disney: Interlude

Before I continue to in my journey through the disney Princess movies, I think I should explain something about “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”: I suspect that I see (or better: hear) this movie a little bit different than the English speaking audience. So many tend to comentario on Snow White’s squeaky voice, but that’s not the voice I grew up with.
