My Original Thoughts

I absolutely loved Ariel. I can't really go in depth about it, because when I first saw it, I was really little. (Prolly about 5 o 6) But my feelings were pretty straightforward: she was a MERMAID & was pretty & a unique princess. I mean, I kinda wanted to be her. Who wouldn't want to live under the sea? I never really understood why she wanted be a human, though, because a mermaid was freaking amazing in my mind! Something I do remember is, my mom and my little and older sisters had a disney songs CD. We would replay "Part of Your World" just because it was "our" song. :)

My Thoughts Now

I still amor Ariel! We have had our ups and downs; at one point, I hated, o más so, disliked her. I've come to my senses and realized how adorable she is. Her rebellious spirit that she has I admire. Mostly because I can't take risks for diddly squat.. She is such a bubbly character & can think on her feet. en general, general though, I can't avoid her quite unintelligent decision to visit Ursula, who she knew was the sea witch. /: And then, her head-over-heels nature with Eric is over excessive for me. Obviously, that's an important component to the story, but it's just a trait I'm not particularly fond of.

Beauty

It's actually quite difficult for me to even distinguish my feelings about her looks. No doubt, Ariel can have some stunning shots, but then again I never really saw her as exceptionally beautiful. I think she's pretty, but borderline cute. First of all, she does have a beautiful eye color, but then they decided to put three eyelashes on each eye. A lot of people complain about her body looking "anorexic" (& I absolutely despise that term, but I don't have time to explain why. Maybe some other time) In all honesty, I think Ariel's body looks just fine. I do have a problem with her hair. Though it has a lot of volume and I amor the way it looks underwater, the color is terrible. I know they couldn't have done blonde because it would make the underwater scenes give off some odd coloring, but what was the point in giving Ariel a brash, quite off-putting color?

Wardrobe

What to say.. What to say.. I do like the sparkly dress at the end, and the blue outfit she wears to town is cute, but besides that, nothing particularly sticks out in a positive o even a neutral light. Negatively though, I don't like her humongous sleeves on Ariel's wedding free nor do I like the dullish rosado, rosa color of the dress she wears to dinner.

Voices
Speaking

Honestly, there isn't much to go off. Yes, we have some time in the beginning when she speaks but it doesn't give me an impression of any kind.

Eh.. I think Jodi can sing, but idk. I'm just not feeling Ariel's canto voice. At times, it's nasally. Other times, I really amor the way it sounds. Overall, I'm very indecisive about Ariel.

Swanpride I always found it odd to complain about the body build of what basically is an imaginary figure. She is a mermaid. Plus, it's animation, which is always stylized. Ariel's eyes are certainly her most beautiful feature. They are so expressive (which they have to be, because of the mute scenes, but still).

MalloMar Nice job, as usual. I agree with most of this (That's all I ever say now...:|) I like Ariel, but I can understand why others don't. I think I can understand why you dislike the term "looking anorexic", because anorexic isn't a look, it's a disorder. At least, that's why I can't stand that term. She's lovely, but not the most beautiful. I actually like her hair color. My favorite Ariel outfit is the sparkly lavender dress. Beside that, I also don't think anything else really stands out. Her voice is nice. Sorry for talking about myself instead of the article. I guess I'm just comparing my opinions to yours. I can't wait for the next part!

rapunzelsgold_ I'm glad I found someone else who isn't crazy about her voice :/ I've always found it weird that Ariel never had a "belty" song, and yet she's one of the most popular Princesses. Her voice seems like it's fit for that type of song and yet they just flunked it. Nice article though! I'm also glad you're against people calling her "anorexic" too.

8804 First of all, excellent article, CraZy_rawR!!! True, Ariel's song is not a "belty" song all the way through...like, say, Let It Go or Almost There. I seem to remember Howard Ashman wanting the song to have a quieter vibe, as if being under the sea in an enclosed area was part of the "feel" of the song, to contrast with the lyrics which talked about "wide open spaces" ( up where they walk/ up where they run/ up where they stay all day in the sun vs. the seas depths where not much light penetrates). Back in the day, Belle's voice was quite belty during the normal verses prior to the louder choruses. and contrasted with Ariel's. I seem to remember that Belle's voice had a brass tone to it ( even though I was only eight at the time, I thought this was the case). This made Ariel's softer, sweeter voice a treat for me. But I was never one of those people who loved "brass, belty Broadway songs." I remember liking Esmeralda's singing voice for much the same reason. You can still get your point across, without verging on scream-shouting your song. But this just proved that I was the reverse of most people, who loved the loud singers. Wonderful job as usual!!! I'm sorry for wandering off into my rambling again. But you just caused me to reassess "why" I've loved Ariel's voice for an extremely long time. And probably, Mulan's, too, for the same reason. Looking forward to reading the next article in this series!!!

Okay, to explain. I did a countdown AND a lista pick. Much más people participated in the countdown (almost twice as much) but lists are still más accurate. So I wrote for both. I will write about the countdown first, then list, for each respective ranking. Especially since I already started to write the articulo for the countdown portion, I don't want it to go to waste. A/N: So this idea randomly popped into my head and I think I may even have a storyline to go with it! So Im pretty happy about that, so yeah! This is basically a story of Eugene's life in the orphanage, please review and give your opinions on this story.

And to ensure the beauty of the female leads, animators often drab down while designing the female co-stars to help the leading lady shine. Ok so I have heard a lot of conversation over the topic of Flynn and Rapunzel's relationship...now tu either like them o tu don't I guess is how it goes and I must admit that when I was watching the movie the first time I went "Wow...they fell in amor when?!" but the thing is literally if tu blink at an exact moment tu could miss what really pointed it out in the first place. Here's an analysis of their relationship throughout the movie.
