In 2012, Rapunzel arrived on the scene in Disney's "Tangled," making history as the first ever computer generated princess. When enredados came out, it was a big hit and Rapunzel became an instant estrella with her adventurous personality, rambunctious nature, and long hair.

However, it didn't stop there. 2 years later, the world was introduced to another 3d princess. A red, curly haired, sword-swinging, bow and arrow shooting lass from the highlands of Scotland named Merida. Much like Rapunzel, Merida became an instant estrella on her arrival, even before then. Pictures and artwork of her were all over deviantart.com and little girls were walking around wearing Merida wigs. On her first days in Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom, guests filed in to see her in all her glory. When she was finally inducted as an official princess, I, along with a lot of people were excited beyond belief.

Now, this year, we will see another 3d princess that will soon be added to the Royal Court, Anna from, "Frozen." Not much is known about her, but she will probably be on her way to the parks soon.

With the introductions of Rapunzel, Merida and soon Anna, has disney entered a new age with the princesses. Has the time of hand-drawn royalty passed. Will Rapunzel, Merida and Anna's estrella power rise to such heights that veterans beauties like Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora and the others will no longer be needed?
