Science could easily be compatible with religion, if dado a chance... However, it depends on which aspects of religion. Also, it is already kind of a thing. I mean, so many scientists these days are also Creationists, that directly advocate science as a just another part of God's Will. If tu read Sarfati's Greatest Hoax, then tu will learn something about this, as he interviews a fairly large number of scientists that also believe in Creationism and Intelligent Design.

Science does not have to affirm something to be compatible with it. For instance, science cannot make arguments as to the objective beauty of something, only as to whether o not we find it beautiful. But the concept of objective beauty is not incompatible with science.The belief in an omnipowerful entity is not necessary for religion . For instance, I know animists, and animism is a religious worldview[1]. Shinto, meanwhile, is an animistic religious tradition where one of the creator gods ends up dying, and the other one fails to revive her successfully[2].
Absolutely. Science can explain and re-affirm the things religions say. Religion can answer preguntas science can't, and push people to explore the universe more.
