Why does every one want Edward Cullen so hated? 

Maybe I'm only friends with the more tolerant debaters, but I don't think I've ever encountered anyone on the 'anti-Twilight' side of the debate who tried to make a fan dislike Edward Cullen or the books. I've only known people to express the issues they had with his behaviour in the books, and if simply stating his behaviour sounds to someone like a desperate attempt to stop them liking him then clearly they too think he behaves badly.

That's an issue I have with the more hard-core Twilight fans. They take any negative comment as a full blown attack. An attempt to change their loyalties and drag them away from Twilight. Now I love Buffy the vampire slayer, but I know a few people who don't who've explained the reasons they don't like it and I never considered them sharing their opinion as an attempt to stop me liking Buffy. Plus, I must add when they told me their problems with Buffy I had (polite) counter arguments, but not one person has ever been able to respond to me about my issues with the Edward/Bella relationship. Perhaps if the hard-core fans thought out a response and had a discussion with someone who dislikes Twilight then the interaction would feel less like an attack and more like a polite discussion.

I'm team edward and all of my friends arent. I will never change my mind tho.
