How do tu forget about what other people think?

I'm really trying to rebuild my relationship with God, but one of the things stopping me is what others think about it. Lots of my friends aren't Christian, o not very big on the idea, and they always make comentarios about it.
It makes me mad sometimes, wondering why God brought me to Him (I used to be Wiccan/Atheist), if it's so hard and "wrong" in today's society, which I know is wrong because He's helped me so much. I hate feeling like that, but I can't help it.
I want to be with God and not worry about what others think, but I'm so self conscious about that. How do tu forget about what people think about tu and God?

Daily affirmations help a lot. They sound ridiculous, I know, but just reminding yourself every día who tu are and why tu believe reaffirms that faith. It may also be helpful to write your favorito! scriptual o inspirational frases and stick them up on the walls of your room.

What other people think about God might be an interesting topic of conversation, but it shouldn't affect your convictions. Just because tu disagree with your friends doesn't make tu any less right than they are, and it doesn't mean tu have to compromise your faith. They believe what they believe, and tu believe what tu believe, and you're all still friends. That's great. If they try and belittle your beliefs, then, well, they're not your friends.

If they accidentally make a remark that offends you, let them know. Most of the time, they didn't mean it to hurt your feelings o insult your faith. They just didn't know. Informing them of your issue may also allow them to participate in helping tu over your spiritual speed bump. They might want to help - even if they don't believe like tu do.

And remember, if they make tu feel small, and they do it on purpose (read: after tu tell them how their comentarios make tu feel), then find better friends. I don't care if they are Christian o Taoist. "No one can make tu feel inferior without your permission." ;)

Your friendly, neighborhood Agnostic.

I know how tu feel as a former Christian, i know the persecution is tough, and hard to live with, even other Christians make fun of fellow Christians just to seem "cool" o accepted among their peers, the reason i stopped being a christian (1 of the reasons) is because i realized it's nearly impossible to be one in today's society without being a hypocrite.
Anyways, to help tu along your path, maybe i should mention that i struggle with sexuality problems and ive also never been the same as anyone else, im just different, i could try to hide it and be normal and fit in with the crowd but then i realized something, i would never be happy, i will always just be a big fake thing....and i would die like that
so tu be yourself , all of yourself, and tu would meet people who amor it! and amor tu for you! even though tu might think that might be impossible, somebody once told me that tu don't change to suit other people, cause there will be those people who will want to suit you! :)
good luck kid ^ ^

I know how tu feel... partially. I'm Christian but a lot of my friends are athiest. While i try to mostrar them that God is real and loves us all very much, they don't believe. Sometimes they do make fun of me but i try to think like jesús and not get mad. I know that they do that because they don't believe like i do. Just remember that God always loves tu and that he can't see the flaws o rude labels that others see.

If it helps, try to find a video from Louie Giglio... he helps me really get God.

It is part of the cruzar, cruz we ourselves have to bear. John 1:5 It hurts yes, but there is worse. So I remember the actual cruzar, cruz that jesús bore...I think of the people who have been persecuted throughout centuries and that torture they endured (or died as a result) cannot compare.

It helps to have other Christian friends o people who share a spiritual thirst and willingness to seek ~ I have friends of all denominations and faiths, yet they know my belief. I respect them & their right to choose their own path & faith, yet I am most comfortable, especially in times of need o heartache, I find-when someone understands & can offer me some wisdom that I can really relate to & that has been from people filled with that Holy spirit o that God works through. That helps me.

If I cared about what others thought- I'd be screwed. (I know I do care, lol... but I cannot afford to try to "look good" at all times when it comes to saving my butt o when I just have to choose. If I am wimpy and stand down when others hold strong to their belief, what will God think of me? I know He understands, but it also isn't good. He doesn't deserve that, and after all jesús did! He doesn't deserve that at all. I am not a perfect Christain, & I am sure I do not always make Him proud~ but más than anything I would like to please my father!

So surround yourself with things that lift up your spirit and feed your soul the message, the word, and strengthens tu so tu can grow stronger!

i think we all go threw that when we chose the path of the lord... even jesús did when he was alive. He worked threw it though and we should to. Being Christan is something we should rejoice in because its something so special. Believe me when i say the lord will change your life for the better. So carry on believing and remember that he will be there to help tu with your friends
