it seemed fairly obvious to me, especially since there were rumours of his death.

I haven't read any spoilers or heard any rumours since I was catching up prior to yesterday so I figured it out not long before they did.

I watched a few seconds of the ep before going to school, and I found THE moment by accident, so.. :P

I hadn't heard any spoilers at all (actually, I didn't even know this episode was going to be about the murder of Kate's mother)

But it seemed rather obvious that Montgomery had something to do with it, because I knew it had to be a character that WE knew on the show (otherwise, they wouldn't have made all this fuss about the "3rd cop") and it had to be someone old enough to be a cop by the time Kate's mother was killed... And the only one that matched those was Montgomery. (there was also Kate's father... but it wouldn't have made any sense, plus he's not even a cop^^)

I..couldn't believe it... I am still sad about it...
