The BTVS writers worked hard to make the mostrar so deep and intelligent. To incite strong feelings and make tu really think about what was going on in the show.
But there are some scenes that I think I was watching wrong. Times when I'm sure that what I was supposed to be thinking and what I was actually thinking were quite different. Scenes like these:
1. S5 Ep4 'Out of my mind' where we see Buffy & Spike kiss, then find out it is Spike dreaming.
I was supposed to think:
What's going on? Buffy cheating on Riley with Spike? Spike loves Buffy? is this a dream? A spell?
I was actually thinking:
MMmmmmmmmm...Topless Spike.
2. S2 Ep 13 'surprise' After sleeping with Buffy ángel wakes up in pain, stumbles outside and calls for Buffy.
I was supposed to think:
What's going on? Is he ok? Why is he in so much pain?
I was actually thinking:
He was naked when that pain started. If it's that bad why (and how) did he get fully dressed, right down to tying his shoelaces before going outside? Wait, his apartment's tiny. If he was yelling & falling about like that the entire time he was getting dressed how didn't that wake Buffy up? She must be a damn heavy sleeper.
3. The final scene in 'Chosen'
I was supposed to think:
Wow. That was epic. The end of an Era.
I was actually thinking:
Wait. That showed Sunnydale in the middle of lots of land near no water. But there are docks in Sunnydale. We saw them. Where did the water go?
4. S4 Ep19 'New moon rising' Oz realising Tara has been with Willow wolfs out and chases her.
I was supposed to think:
Poor Tara's in danger. And poor Oz losing the control he worked so hard for. RUN TARA!
I was actually thinking:
tu know, I never noticed it before, but doesn't Were-Oz have the cutest little tufty tail?
5. S6 Ep9 'Smashed' Spike and Buffy have sex for the first time
I was supposed to think:
This is such a big moment. It's a great moment for Spike, but shows just how damaged and self destructive Buffy has become
What I was actually thinking watching a Spike sex scene: Censored.
6. Every single scene featuring 'The Master'
I was supposed to think:
Scary vampire. tu can tell from his appearance he is older & más demonic than the others.
I was actually thinking:
He kinda looks like one of those hairless gatos doesn't he?
