Dark clouds started to form around where the gatos waited to attack one another.
"Lets go," Blake's angered voice rasped. All the other warriors looked angry, and ready to spring at any moment. Behind him, Blake heard the ThornClan leader hiss.
"Mouse-brains," he spat. "and don't ever come back!" Blake tried to keep his claws sheathed. His Clan was almost into the forest again, but Billy cursed back at them: "Your Clan is nothing but a worthless peace of zorro, fox dung!"
The ThornClan leader stopped in his tacks, and didn't look back. He mumbled something to the strongest warrior.
"Get him."
the warrior shot at Billy, his claws extended. Billy was alert, and he bit the warrior's leg. It fell to the ground, and raked his claws down Billy's stomach.
"Get him, Stonefoot!" Thornstar's voice called after the warrior. While the warrior was distracted, Billy gave his eyes a hard scratch. Stonefoot screeched in pain, and flung back, retreating.
"You idiot!" Thornstar hissed. "You nearly blinded him."
"We're not going to fight now," Blake growled. "We're leaving."
"Mark my words, Blake," Thornstar hissed. "We will have revenge." he looked back at his wounded warrior. "now get out, before I make Hawkwing attack tu too."
Blake hissed and led his warriors out. Glancing angrily at Billy, and knew he would have to punish him.
"That was a stupid thing tu said," he started. "Yeah, I know." Billy would not meet his gaze.
"Even though you're not my son, I still have to punish you." Blake went on. Billy looked at him and then looked at his paws.
"Yes, Blake." he sighed.
"I think of it when we get back to camp- tu know, tu could of been killed." Blake meowed, walking to the head of the cats.
"You're annoying," the small red apprentice growled at Brendon.
"Good," Brendon smirked. "that means I'm doing my job."
Redriver snorted and walked to the other side of the fallen tree. Brendon rolled his eyes. He remembered when he was an apprentice; like this one, only a bit más stubborn. He couldn't help chuckling.
"What's so funny?" Amy asked unsheathing his claws.
"You guys," Brendon answered. Just then, the warriors came back. Brendon saw his father's tail lashing from side to side angrily. "Stay here," he ordered the four apprentices.
"It's not like we can go anywhere," the red one growled.
"What happened?" Brendon asked, but he sorta got an answer in his mind when he saw Billy limping with a bleeding shoulder. His father had a fiery gaze and sat down.
"ThornClan deny stealing our prey," he growled.
"What?" Brendon hissed. "But we have proof!"
"I know," Meowed Blake, getting up and walking into his den. Brendon saw his mother fallow and touch noses with his father.
Brendon growled. ThornClan deny!? He trotted over to the pond, and looked down into the sparkling water. He didn't notice the small apprentice before he was pushed into the freezing water. He crawled out, shivering, and stared evilly at Amy. "What was that for?" he spat. Amy chuckled and ran back to the fallen tree. She high-pawed the she-cat with the flor in her hair.
Brendon snorted. He was really starting to hate these apprentices. He shook off the remaining droplets of water from his pelt, and sat in a patch of sun to warm himself. The apprentice that knocked him into the pond came over.
"What do tu want?" Brendon mumbled, shivering once more.
She stuttered. "I-I'm sorry," Amy looked away. "It wasn't my idea, it was Blueflower's and Lavenderflow's..."
Brendon snorted. "Whatever,"
But Amy wasn't finished talking. "When your leader lets me and my friends return to ThornClan..." she started. "well, I'd like to stay here."
Brendon's eyes shot open. Train as a FireClan apprentice? She was out of her mind! He sighed. "Fine. I'll ask my father if tu can stay."
She light up and bounced back. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" she called behind her back.
"Pfft, like I'm actually going to tell him." Brendon chuckled. But he did feel a sorta attachment between him and the young apprentice. His gaze fallowed her until she went up to her friends. I can't possibly be falling in LOVE, can I? Brendon thought shocked. No! he sighed and pawed himself in the face. Maybe... he immediately shook the thoughts from his mind. Maybe I SHOULD tell my father that she wants to stay. Brendon got up, and walked over to his father's den. He peeked inside and saw his mother and father laying together.
"Dad?" Brendon called. His father didn't hear him. "Dad!"
"Yes?" Blake sat up and yawned. "What is it?"
"Come in Brendon," his mother mumbled, though she was halfway asleep.
"The small apprentice...the one with brown pelaje, piel and green eyes..." he suddenly couldn't remember her name.
"Amy?" Blake asked, getting up and arching his back in a stretch.
"Yes- that one," Brendon mewed. "She says she doesn't want to go back to ThornClan-"
"She what?" Growled Snowbell. "Why?"
"I don't know why," Brendon went on. "She wants to stay."
Blake snorted. "Whatever," he mumbled. "Only if she stays loyal. tu can be her mentor."
"Oh, great," Brendon mumbled through gritted teeth.
"Is there something wrong with that?" his mother demanded.
"No, mom. It's...exciting...woo who...." he mewed sarcastically. "I guess I'll let tu sleep now."
His mother mewed a good-bye, and he walked out into the sun.
"Hey! Amy!" he called. He turned around, and there she was; her eyes expectant like a kit.
"Yes?" she mewed.
"Oh," he looked away. "My dad dicho tu can stay-"
"Yay!" she bounced up and down. "Who's my mentor?"
"Me..." Brendon looked down at his paws. "I know tu don't like it either-"
"Are tu kidding?" she asked seriously. "I wouldn't care if an elder was my mentor- I'm in the most loyal Clan in the forest!"
She seemed excited, so Brendon shrugged and walked to his den. The sun was setting, and he needed a rest. "Get some sleep," he ordered. "We'll start training in the morning."
Amy prodded Brendon awake with her paw.
"Huh? What?" Brendon asked in a huge yawn.
"What are we going to do first for my training?" she asked, purring.
"Well, I guess we could go hunting-"
"Hunting?" she moaned. "But that's boring!"
"Well, if you'd rather me mostrar tu our borders,-"
"Yes! That would be great!" Amy bounced up and ran to the entrance of the camp.
"Hold on," Brendon instructed her. "Don't go yet."
"Are tu always this pushy?" Amy asked, half joking.
"Well," Brendon mewed playfully. "that's what mentors are like."
"Are there any mentors worse that you?" she laughed.
"I don't know, but I'm gonna get worse if tu keep asking stupid questions." He flicked her with his tail.
"Would I be a good mentor?" she asked hopefully.
"Maybe, mostrar me what tu got in fighting today." Brendon purred.
"I will," Amy promised. I know he's about two moons older than me, she thought, but stopped herself there. Was she going to admit she was in love with her mentor? She shook her head.
"Fleas?" Brendon asked.
"No," Amy answered. "My ear just tickles."
She hopped Brendon believed that.
Maybe she was in amor with him, maybe not. Age didn't make a difference, only what's inside did.
"Brendon..." she started. Should I tell him?
