The rest of the ride to the victim's house was completely silent, and it was a slightly uncomfortable silence. They walked up to the door together, Booth's hand almost migrated to its usual place at her lower back, but he thought again and decided against it. He rang the bell, and stood quietly siguiente to Temperance on the front step.
"It's almost like deja vu, isn't it? It seems like we always end up on another person's doorstep after "something" between us happens." dicho Temperance, breaking the silence.
"Did something happen between us?" He wasn't sure if it was "something" to both of them o not.
"Yeah. I mean, was it something to you?" The hurt look in her eyes told him how much she was holding back. He looked away as he heard rustling in the house, then looked back at her.
"Yeah. It was something to me. Hey, I hear something in the house, continue this after we talk to 'em?"
"Yeah..." She wanted to keep talking. She'd planned out everything in her mind the entire ride here, but she could wait. She'd been waiting for nearly a year, an hora wouldn't change much.
The door opened, and they were greeted with an elderly woman wearing an apron.
"Yes?"
"Hi. I'm Special Agent Seeley Booth, this is Dr. Temperance Brennan. We're here about Andrew Stevenson."
"Andy..." a sad look crossed her face,"Come in, come in. I'm Andrew's mother, Lina." She wiped her hands on her delantal then held her hand out and shook both of their hands before leading them into the sitting room of the house.
"Tea?"
"No thank you," dicho both Brennan and Booth at the same time. They shared a slightly awkward look, then sat down on the sofá siguiente to each other.
The woman sat down in a chair opposite them, looking expectantly at them.
"Ms. Stevenson, we found your son's remains on the Selby bahía yesterday morning. We're both very sorry for your loss." dicho Booth. The woman had tears in her eyes, but kept herself together.
"How...?"
"Blunt force trauma to the skull," responded Brennan.
***Back at the Jeffersonian(I'm sure tu know what happened at the house)***
Temperance Brennan sat in her office, searching for respuestas in x-rays and fotos of the body. Booth walked in and sat down opposite her in the chair in front of her desk.
"You wanted to continue the conversation from earlier."
She looked up and smiled. Even now, she couldn't help but smile when she saw him.
"Yes, how much of a something was it to you?"
"A lot. tu know, I left for you. I couldn't live with tu being upset with me. And I couldn't chance us breaking apart." His eyes twinkled, and for a moment he thought he might have actually gotten her to soften.
"Me too. That's why I made tu leave. I thought that if I let tu into my life, you'd leave when I needed tu the most. So, I guess I thought I'd beat tu to the kick."
"Bones, it's 'beat tu to the punch'. And tu can count on me. Even when I'm dead." While he was talking he had walked around her escritorio until we was standing siguiente to her. She stood and looked him in the eyes.
"But what if tu are forced to betray me? What if tu really do die? What if tu break one of your promises? And then do tu think I'll just forgive tu immediately? Our relationship took time, Booth. I don't want it to have been for nothing." She looked like she was about to cry. It was almost as if she was reliving her parents flight 15 years later, except it was Booth this time. And in the back of her mind, she knew she had to give in. She had to trust him completely, because otherwise she'd miss out on the amor of her life. He couldn't wait forever, and she knew that.
"Booth?"
But instead of responding, he kissed her. The kiss he had imagined, and she had imagined, it was there. In her office. With the 'Squint Squad' looking through her office door the whole time.

David Boreanaz has admitted that he often struggles to get along with his bones co-star Emily Deschanel.
The actor, who plays F.B.I. Special Agent Seeley Booth on the crime drama, revealed that Emily (Temperance Brennan) is sometimes too outspoken for his liking.
“We drive each other crazy and tell each other so. There are days when we mostrar up and don’t get on too well, but we use it in the scenes,” Boreanaz told Metro.
Asked why they sometimes annoy each other, David explained: “I’m constantly poking her shoulder and getting under her skin. I think it’s part of my job. She’s very opinionated. I could be talking to a director o producer and she’ll put her two cents in. It’s annoying and I’ve told her about it, but she keeps on doing it.”
