Brennan shivered in the darkness that surrounded her. The past few days of torture had been like a living hell for her. The hench men had hurt her in any way possible. They chocked her, beat her, drown her, cut her with knives and left her to suffer the amargo, amargos cold. They had taken away her jacket, so all she was left with was a thin, summer camisa, camiseta and her jeans, neither of which kept her the slightest bit warm. Since being here, she had lost lots of blood and the constant torture, made her often slip in and out of consciousness, not knowing if she would wake up again.
For the first time in a long time, Brennan felt scared. Booth had always been there to protect her. Now she didn’t even know if he was alive.
The screech of unoiled hinges reached her ears and made her look up. Two men hobble in and stood on either side of the door. Then the blond man walked in. She had not seen him since he caught her in the forest. She had no idea how long hace that was. It could have been yesterday, last week, an eternity ago. She hadn’t seen daylight for a long time.
She had tried to escape again. A few times. She’d manage to get the key and somehow, with her hands tied behind her back, get out. But she was no match to the five men that caught her within a few steps. She payed dearly for her attempts. Bruising covered her ribs and every time she moved too much, pain shot through every inch of her limbs and body.

The man strode through the room. He looked annoyed, but Brennan couldn’t tell in the small light that lit the room. But she found out when he kicked her in the head. Blood rushed down her face as her head snapped back. He delivered another piercing blow, this time the ribs. A scream erupted from her. The pain was unbearable. Air gushed from her lungs and struggled for breath. Every intake of air feeling like being stabbed. This time, she was certain one o two of her ribs were broken. As she fought to gain control of her movements again, the man spoke.
“Huh,” he said, slightly amused but overly sarcastic and angry, “I can’t believe you. Most people just give up. But not you! tu had to cause me a load of grief and make me come back to see to it myself that tu stay put!” he paced in small circles as he dicho this, spinning a cuchillo in his fingers. But with one sudden movement, he spun and cut her cheek. Brennan was determined not to scream. No matter how much it stung her. It felt like she was being cut with searing hot barbed wire.
As blood ran down her cheek, the man left the room, but snapped his fingers, and before she knew it, she was being dragged across broken glass and sharp rocks until, after what felt like an eternity, it stopped. Brennan was hauled to her feet and shoved into a slightly lit room, the door was smashed shut behind her. Once Brennan’s eyes had adjusted to the light, she looked at where she was, and was horrified. Blood stains pooled all over the cold concrete floor and splattered the sides of the walls. Crushed bones littered parts and shackles that still contained the bones of human hands and arms hung on the wall. This was his slaughter room.
Brennan knew she had to get out of there, but she had hardly any strength left and was too tired and run down to stand. No matter how hard she willed her body to move, she couldn’t. She had lost. That man would be here in a few minutes, she was sure of it. But what was worse was she didn’t care anymore.

Brennan didn’t know how long she waited, dreading each moment was her last. It must have been a while, for the candle that lit the room had faded out. Then she heard it. Unoiled hinges opening slowly. She squinted at the silhouette before her. She couldn’t make out who it was. Brenan was certain it was her kidnapper. It was defiantly a man. He quickly closed the door shut behind him. That’s when Brennan saw the gun. Fear overwhelmed her and with a sharp intake of breath, she moved as far back as the mocking walls would let her. The sound gained the attention of the man who scanning the darkened room for the fuente of the noise. Brennan shut her eyes. segundos seemed like decades as she expected to feel the pain of a bullet pass her into the void. She heard hurried footsteps getting closer to her.
Suddenly, strong arms wrapped around her and held her protectively. Booth stroked her hair.
“Bones, Bones, it’s okay, I’m here.” It was only now that Brennan realized tears were streaming down her face, stinging her cheek. Booth rested his head on hers and cradled her gently. He couldn’t believe how cold she was. It was like hugging an ice cube. He felt her shaking in his arms. He pulled off his chaqueta and put it around her. Then he pulled her closer.
Brennan buried her head into his muscular chest. Booth really was her guardian angel. When the gravedigger kidnapped her, he was there to take her hand and pull her to the surface, when she was kidnapped por someone she thought she could trust, it was he who left the hospital to rescue her, when she found out about her mother, he was there to pull her up again, and now, he was here to tell her everything would be alright.

Booth knew there was no time to waste. Seeing the state Brennan was in, he knew she probably wouldn’t be able to walk, so he scooped her up and headed for the door. For a while, they went through a maze of corridors. Booth was surprised they hadn’t run into anyone. He thought there would be Hench me everywhere. He was pleased to see there was just one más door to get through. Then they would be in the main part of the warehouse and it would be easy to get out unnoticed.
As they approached the door, Booth rested Brennan against a muro so he could see if it was safe. He reached out to open the door, but before he could touch it the handle turned, the handle turned and the door flung open, and on the other side stood Brennan’s kidnapper.

Booth was tapping his fingers impatiently on his left knee. Brennan was sighing and crossing and uncrossing her legs from time to time. Sweets was sitting opposite them, smiling. Booth became too annoyed.
“Are tu gonna talk o are tu just going to stare at us?”
Sweets smiled. “Well, I was declining to speak first. It puts me in control.”
Booth smirked. “Where did tu get that? Wikipedia?”
Sweets hung his head. “Yes.”
Booth frowned. Brennan looked at him and then at Sweets, and them at him again.
“Could tu talk with words here? I’m not a male and I am not familiar with your...
