For those curious, Sojun is Byakuya's father, the only one in the Kuchiki family besides Rukia ever known to be capable of smiling in public. If that can be called a smile in that picture...oh, and he was Ginrei's vice-captain. There is no canon reason as to why he has mysteriously vanished in the past century.
