Into battle? Yes. To the point of attacking? No. She'll probably be extremely defensive, but I get the feeling Tite Kubo's been saving her for something.

I think she's the most neglected captain...which is a shame because she has such appeal to me. I'm holding out hope that we'll see her fight but I'm not counting on it.

She's the head of the healing-styled division isn't she, having her on the battle field could result in her death. Not very helpful

Just because she's the head of the medical division doesn't mean she isn't capable of fighting..little about Minazuki is known and her Bankai hasn't even been revealed...Hisagomaru is a healing based zanpakuto but its secondary ability is offensive. I think that Retsu may at some point be put into a situation where she has to fight.

^ if thats aimed at me the point was that they would keep her away from fighting to heal the injured, having her die on the battlefield would hampen any fights they would be in later.

she is very good fighting and in the kidous... i dont think she will be only on defensive because she is very good with her sword but i think she will use many bakudous :P

Although it would be absolutely epic and make my life, I don't think so. Soul Society needs her to be able to heal them, and she can't do that if she herself was severely injured. If she didn't interfere in the war against Aizen and his Arrancar army, where everyone ended up fighting, I don't think she'll be interfering with any other fights.

She fights against Reigai Unohana, and it is an epic battle. XD

As captain of squad 4, deliberately choosing to participate in combat would go against the squad's ethic. She withdrew from her fight against the Regei (after tossing some epic high level kido back and forth, I might add) and the regei explicitately stated how she wouldn't be fit to be captain of squad 4 if she didn't prioritize her own safety in order to heal the others and fight. I believe she's been portrayed quite well lately.
All that said, she will get into a fight in the last arc. I'm not sure as to what extent, but it seems pretty definite according to my sources.

Actually, I completely agree with you, Exorcist, she is a healer, not a fighter and they did portray her very well. XD
