My normally amplified vision suddenly became blurred. Anger surged through my cold, rock body. The feeling of guilt overwhelmed me to my core. My mind was pulling me in so many different directions. I still wanted to destroy Baylor. I wanted to destroy all of them.
Edward could see the rage in my eyes. He stayed calm, promising to keep Charlie safe. Alice was on the phone to Carlisle, talking sternly, asking that he get Charlie and keep him safe. She didn’t give Carlisle much detail, just told him we would be back soon to help keep Charlie safe.
Well, that answered my pregunta about what we were going to do next. I wasn’t sure if putting an angry, thirsty, guilt ridden vampire on a plane for another nearly nine hours was a good idea. I didn’t have a choice, though. We had to get back to Charlie, fast.

The flight back seemed to go por faster than the flight there. I spent the majority of the time pretending to sleep, placing a sweater over my head to muffle the scent of human blood as much as I could. Edward and Alice conversed, trying to seem as human as possible.

As soon as we got off the plane, Edward called Carlisle to make sure he had Charlie there. He told Edward that he was going to take Charlie some place más seguro as soon as we got back, and had a chance to say goodbye. I didn’t want to say goodbye, though. I’m too afraid of goodbyes. It wont be for long, hopefully. If the Volturi come, I plan to take full responsibility, and will plea with them to leave Charlie alone. It’s not his fault that I chose to tell him. If I could take it back, and tell him this was some kind of sick joke, I would. But I cant.

Once we got back to the house, I could see all the windows were covered, not allowing any part of the inside peek through. Jacob’s Volkswagen Rabbit was parked half on the perfectly groomed grass, being the only car in the driveway. I almost didn’t want to go inside, knowing that as soon as I did, all I would have time to do was say goodbye, then watch Charlie get whisked off.

After a slight hesitation, I finally went in, Edward and Alice por my side. Renesmee ran into the lobby, her beautiful, angelic smile looking up at Edward and I. I knew I had to keep on a Valiente face, for her. Nessie showed Edward and I how much she missed us. She missed her auntie Alice, too. She also showed us how much fun she had with Jacob, hunting, going to the water to find shells and driving around in his Rabbit.

I walked into the kitchen, where Charlie was sitting stiffly in a plush white leather chair, his hand wrapped around a Rainier beer. It was nice to see they had gotten him some of his favorito! beer, and food. Though I’ve been human for far longer than I’ve been a vampire, I already forget about certain human tendencies.
Esme was grilling a couple of steaks, and had potatoes baking in the stove for Charlie and Jacob. After flipping the steaks she slid Charlie’s empty cerveza out if his hand, then replaced it with a fresh cold one. Charlie didn’t seem to notice.
We must have walked in quietly, because he didn’t notice us standing behind him, either.

Though I didn’t want to face Charlie, after everything I’ve caused, I placed my hand on his shoulder, making him flinch until he realized it was me. Before he could say anything, I began to apologize over and over and told him we would do whatever we had to do to keep him safe. He looked scared, but relieved to see me at the same time. He tried to make me feel better por telling me I didn’t do anything wrong. Right. That’s why a coven of vampiros was probably going to come and try to destroy all of us, and him.
Edward kept his arm around my waist the entire time, reassuring Charlie that we would keep him safe. When Esme placed Charlie’s cena down in front of him, he scanned the room, looked at me and discreetly whispered “isn’t anyone other than Jacob and I going to eat?”
“Dad, vampiros don’t eat… food.” I half grinned, thinking he already knew that.
He looked back at me, the fear in his eyes growing más visible. Then he asked the pregunta I knew was coming next. “Do tu only drink blood, then?”
I briefly explained how the Cullen’s are on a special “vegetarian” diet, and also told him about the rarity of this diet among our kind. He looked at me confused, then back at his comida and kept eating, almost not breathing in between bites.

Once Charlie and Jacob were done their dinner, Carlisle brought two luggage bags to the front door, and patiently waited for me to say goodbye to Charlie. I put on my bravest face, then placed my hand over Charlie’s hand, finding it hard to look into his eyes. If I was able to produce tears, they would have been pouring down my face at this point. Finally, I looked up at him, apologized one last time and reminded him I would do whatever it took to keep him safe. Then, instead of ‘goodbye’ - I let go of his hand and told him to ‘stay safe.’ He told me he loved me, and was out the door and into Carlisle’s car, on his way to safety, I hoped. Carlisle couldn’t tell us where he was taking Charlie. He wanted to keep the location out of everyone’s heads in case the Volturi do come, particularly Aro, and read someones mind to find out the location. We would have to take any and every precaution to keep Charlie safe.

Edward, Alice, Esme, Jacob and Renesmee all gathered around me, each lovingly promising they would be there for me, no matter what. Rosalie, Emmett and Jasper still refused to talk to me. Alice would sometimes hiss at Jasper, but he’d pretend not to hear it. Though I hope they can find it in them to forgive me at some point, they really are the least of my worries right now.

Alice quickly distanced herself from everyone in the room and her eyes began to focus intently. I knew this was coming, I didn’t imagine it would come this soon, though. Alice confirmed my assumptions, and told us all that she saw Aro, Demetri, Caius and Marcus coming to Forks. If I had a beating heart, it would have abruptly stopped when she told me we only had four days. What I found interesting, though, was that Alice only saw four of them coming. So many thoughts flashed into my mind instantaneously.
Without a word, Jacob ran out the door, then morphed into lobo form and ran off. Edward read his mind, though. Jacob was going to tell the lobo pack what happened, and get them ready to fight. His main priority, of course, is to keep Nessie protected.

What happened four days later, left me in an almost permanent state of shock.

Will write again soon.
