Though I really enjoyed the movie, I picked the book. I just love it, and I also love Bambi's children, really hope they could make that book a sequel to the first movie. You can't believe how dissapointed I was when I saw Bambi 2, they should've made the first movie a little bit longer, with a small part of Bambi and his father in it, like in the book.

I like the 2nd Bambi movie best.I think it was more cuter then the 1st one and it didn't had any sad part in it.

Don't have the original book, but I do have this one. I love it.

i like because there is more thumper in it and bambi talks more.

I love how the relationship between Bambi and his dad starts off rough and awkward and then that one scene where the great prince learns to relax and have fun with his son. never understood why he decided to send him away after that.

In Bambi 1 Bambi is just soo cute :o he learns to talk, and hes way more cuter than in the 2nd movie

I love Bambi 2 but, i won't turn back from loving Bambi(the 1942 disney film) either!

The animation and music in this film are golden, beautiful, and stunning. One of my favorite scenes in the movie is the 'Little April Shower" song number. The dog fight/chase and forest fire scene is intense. The movie is more like a musical, so its lacking in character development and its story. But overall its a great disney film. :3

or Bambi 2. I never read the books actually.

Ok, you really shouldn’t compare books to movies cause they are so different(in books you are seeing words and sometimes pictures on paper then again you’re getting the original story but still, while in movies you get visuals and sound). Anyways, with the films I would go with the first Bambi film(it concludes the story of Bambi’s growth overall), while for the books I choose Bambi, A Life In the Woods(I liked how it handled Bambi’s growth a bit better than the film actually with Bambi already being prepared into adulthood at a young age and didn’t kinda rush it with also having the Old Prince interact with stag Bambi and have him learn about what he knows in anticipating the hunters. Some key strengths that I found the movie lacked to it’s version of Bambi’s coming of age story, I didn’t find the second book as great it kinda lacked a little touch to the first book and the children’s growth in how they learn about the pleasures and harshness a life in the woods didn’t ring as true as their fathers growth)
