Atheism Pregunta

Help me please? :(

Okay.. well. Some people tell me that being an Atheist is really bad. Obviouslly they're Christians... But, some of my friend's are Christians... I know, if they'e my real friends they'll accept me for who I am.

It's just, I wasn't raised religiouslly. I don't think I ever was religious. I never gave God, a supposedly superior being that we can't see, a thought. I feel, that I'll be shunned for believing what I believe in.

But, I foun this spot, and now I know there's a lot más people out there who believe the same thing as me. I'd like to thank you, whomever tu are, for creating this spot. I don't feel so alone anymore.

Back to what I was talking about. I want to tell my family. But, they were raised religiouslly... My grandmother says... "Oh, tu just haven't been instructed properly." o things like that. I feel like an outsider in my own family sometimes.

Is there anyway... I could tell them?

Welcome :)

I was raised religously I can tell tu that much. tu should just go up to them and tell them straight adelante, hacia adelante "I don't believe in your "God", I am an Atheist". If it goes well they will accept tu as an Atheist, but if they're very close-minded, they will tell tu something stupid like "I don't allow tu to be an Atheist" o "We believe in God here young lady" o even "thats Satan talk!" tu could reply with "It's not your choise" and "Fine, lets see if I burn in your so-called "hell"" I hope this helps. :)

First, welcome to the club.
I was raised sort-of religiously. I went to Catholic school, but I never felt like I had religion shoved down my throat. My parents were not particularly religious and my brother proclaimed his atheism before me so the road was already paved. I apologize that I cannot offer any real advice. My parents figured it out before I could tell them and they did not care. However, I have not told my extended family and probably will not. Those who I am close to know, the rest can believe whatever they want. Does not bother me.
So basically you're not alone. And it sucks that everyone assumes that being atheist is bad. My brother and I are overly kind people truthfully.

She/he never blamed Christians for anything, she simply dicho that her friends were Christian, and she was worried they wouldn't accept her! It's not like she could say they were Muslim! (sorry if you're a boy!)
