Shogun’s Sadism is broken into two parts. Part one
deals with a peasant girl who saves the life of a Guard
por sucking snake venom out of his snakebite wound.
She is a Christian and the relationship is frowned upon
por his Master. Brutal torture is the name of the día as
the master tries to break her spirit por rape, torture and
sadism.
In the segundo story Sutezo is a handyman in a brothel.
He falls in amor with one of the prostitutes and they run
away together. Unfortunately they are recaptured and
yet again, más graphic torture ensues.
Shogun’s Sadism is, like its notorious predecessor
Shogun’s Joy of Torture, a litany of highly graphic cruel
and vicious acts of violence against the person. The list
includes: beheading, dismemberment, women being
thrown into a vat of snakes, branding, castration,
boiling in water.
What makes the film so hard to watch and affecting is
the fact that it isn’t some grimy half arsed alcaparra like

A film about killer hair extensions may sound like a
goofy premise but Sion Sono’s film is a must for J-
Horror fans and general horror film fans will lap it up
too.
There are two elements at work in the film. One is the
story of a dead girl’s corpse that keeps spouting
luxuriant black hair from every orifice. Her body is
stolen por a tricophilic who cuts her hair and sells it for
use in hairdressers for hair extensions. The hair
extensions, however, are possessed and either kill the
wearer o drive them insane.
segundo is the story of trainee hair stylist Yuko who has
an absolute perra whore of a sister – Kiyomi – who
abuses her little daughter – Mami and acts like a total
vicious, heartless tart. Mami gets dumped on Yuko.
Their bond grows closer. Kiyomi regularly steals from
Yuko’s flat and one time grabs the lethal hair
extensions. Back at her own flat we are treated to the
exceedingly pleasing scene of Kiyomi and her sleazeball

I have included Three Extremes because it is a nifty
cross-Asia Portmanteau film featuring three films from
different countries in Asia – Dumplings, directed by
frutas Chan (Hong Kong), Cut, directed por Park Chan-
Wook (S Korea) and Box, directed por Takashi Miike
(Japan).
In Dumplings, an actress is terrified that she is getting
old and losing her looks. She goes for a cure to a
woman who cooks her dumplings which contain a
remarkable rejuvenation ingredient. The ingredient is
sinister but the actress will do anything to retain her
youth.
In Cut, a psychotic extra from a film set holds the
director and his wife hostage while he forces them to
play sadistic games. He chops off the wife’s fingers
every five minutos if they do not comply.
In Box, a young woman has repetitive dreams of being
buried in the snow. She comes to realise that these
may be associated with her missing sister.

Dolls! Scary killer dolls! Argh!
I do not like dollies o mannequins coming to life. It
really scares the bejaysus out of me. Which is fantastic
fun when it comes to watching horror films. This is
definitely the best scary muñecas movie I have ever
watched.
The basis of the plot was quite confusing. There is
something about during the Japanese occupation of
South Korea, a doll maker falls in amor with a woman in
a red kimono and makes a huge life size doll in tribute
to her. The woman falls in amor with him too. When she
is found murdered, the doll maker is blamed and killed.
The doll sits por his grave, mourning his loss for all
eternity.
Cut to the present day. Five young people have been
called to an isolated mansion to have muñecas made in
their image por a paraplegic sculptor called Im. One by

The first segment, The Toilet, begins on Khao San Road, where a group of students are out drinking. Trouble starts when a couple of rough characters -- one is played por Chalat na Songkla -- turn up and start a fight. Chalat grabs a whisky bottle and wails on one of boys so severely the kid should be dead. But he's not. Battered and bruised, the young guy and his girlfriend are bundled into the back of the bad guys' car, where the girlfriend is surprised to learn her sweetheart has been dealing drugs and owes money to the two men. To retrieve the unsold merchandise, the foursome drive to the young guy's campus, where he has the drugs in his locker. Then, for a reason not really explained, the bad guys want to have look around. That's when they're told about a ghost in the fifth floor bathroom, where a student killed herself and there's now a shrine. This first story is the weakest of the four in terms of a coherent narrative, but it's still pretty scary as the students and their abductors ride a creaky old elevator up to the fifth floor. It stops on every floor and a ghost is waiting on each one, getting closer to getting in the elevator at each stop. But for these folks -- the two...
