Basically. People ship Dawn and Ash because:
1. They high-five a lot
2. They are supposedly best friends.
3. Couldn't really care less about this sh*t and about Dawn so I didn't think this through.
But, thats just the beginning of getting it wrong. Really wrong. más wrong than, say. that lame sum in Math which doesn't really have an answer.
The fact that they high five a lot shows that Ash is really comfortable with his hands contacting Dawn's. On the other hand, remember the time when Ash and Misty's hands accidently touched while trying to find Totodile's poke-ball? Misty blushed and on closer inspection of the reactions, Ash was equally awkward about the contact. Which shows that he was feeling shy about coming in body contact with Misty. Its a fact, tu can cross-check por watching the episode again. (Only I cannot give tu the ep. no. I don't remember myself).
As for the 2nd point, Have tu heard of 'Friendzoning: Level Pokemon' ? Ash pretty much friendzones all girls, Misty wasn't as friendzoned as Dawn was. o Iris is- he really doesn't care about how they feel for him. Plus, Misty is a más closer friend of Ash's than Dawn ever will be.
The proof of the above statement is the fact that..
Did Ash cry when he departed from Dawn's company? NO! He didn't. He did not even have a tear in his eye.
But, if you'll recall, Ash genuinely cried after Misty left.
I'll rest my case. Mind you, this has been written after más research than I've ever done. tu can go back and watch the episodes...

Pokeshipping is the only Ash shipping to have the Pokemon name in it. Pokeshipping also is special because even throughout Sinnoh there was still hint. Misty was the one who helped Ash the most out of all the girls. tu may disagree but tu see Misty helped Ash mature. She also helped him become a better trainer. Without her, Ash would have never been so successful. Without her how could Ash make it all the way to Alola? Now childhood friends yadayadayada blaa blaa blaa is nice and all but we don't get to see BOTH Ash and Serena grow their relationship. Instead we get some shitty flashback. But with pokeshipping we get to see Ash and Misty grow closer as the mostrar went on. We got to see another side to this red-headed, so called annoying girl. We got to see just how great the influence pokémon has on kids por teaching them friendship. It was pokeshipping that started it all. This is why pokeshipping is the best.
