Me niether. Especially the title for the last two episodes. It's intriguing me a lot.

I read the comments on there and Sandi thinks that the magic reveal is not gonna happen. Not really surprised but I'll be disappointed if it doesn't happen.

^ I just went there and you are right. What Sandi brings up is a good point. The producers have said something about this show not being about Merlin revealing his magic to Arthur. But what is quite stupid about that is the fact that it hasn't actually done much to the progression of Arthur and Merlin's relationship, if anything it has hindered it. I mean Merlin and the dragon have constantly gone on about Arthur being about the Golden Age and restoring magic and yet we have how many episodes left and the hope of that happening is slim which just makes me sad.

Sandi also posted this on there:

I just googled The Drawing of the Dark and came across this - link. The Fisher King is a main character and the Lady of the Lake a minor one. It also contains a 'prophesied final battle'. So I'm wondering if was used as inspiration maybe...hmmm

I hear you. Not revealing Merlin's magic has been a hinderance to that relationship among other things. Because I've always thought that even if they weren't going to do the magic reveal, they still could have had Arthur showing him more respect, just for being him and still giving him a promotion on the grounds that he's given him sound advice over the years even if he doesn't always listen to him. They could have at least given us that much, but nooooo. This series is going to end with Merlin being in pretty much the same place that he was in S1 with his relationship with Arthur not really developing and their destiny far from being fulfilled. I feel like these show runners have been messing with us this whole time and this has all been some sort of cruel joke. The only show that I can think of which has been as regressive as Merlin is Gossip Girl and I got out of that as soon as I realized that. I don't know why I kept hanging onto Merlin hoping that it'd get better when it actually isn't going to.

About that last bit, the prophesied final battle would be Camlann and maybe Freya will be making an appearance. I hope she's the one who ends up taking Arthur to Avalon if he does die and not frigging Morgana. I don't know how they'd fit the Fisher King in it though if they're using that story as an inspiration but it'd be nice if he was brought back too.

Agreed Bonnie. Arthur could have given Merlin a advisory role seeing as he relies on Merlin's opinions and respects it. But no they keep on going down the track of having the same old, same old scenes between them. As least with Arwen we have gotten proper development and a journey. But with A/M I just don't see it as much and its sad because Bradley and Colin do work together really well.

I agree. I would be pissed if Morgana takes Arthur to Avalon. I think it should be Freya. Morgana would need to shift heaven and hell to redeem herself and even if she tried to I would not accept it. She doesn't deserve it after what she has done.

No she really doesn't deserve it. Especially not this late in the series. After spending how many years abusing and murdering people with no show of remorse or hesitation suddenly being sorry three episodes before the series ends just isn't gonna cut it. No amount of "I'm sorries" or taking Arthur to Avalon is going to be enough. Especially since it isn't even Arthur who she's wronged the most.

sad
What's the point of calling the show 'MERLIN' when they don't explore the depth of the relationship between Arthur and Merlin? I remember when the 1st season aired, the promise was to flesh out Merlin and highlight him in a way no one has seen before for no one really knew of his origin or his relationship with Arthur but now after 5 seasons, Merlin's still dressing up Arthur, polishing boot, mucking out the horses and using magic behind Arthur's back. Whatever happened to the great magic reveal? Or the promise of a great warlock ever in Camelot?
If the creators thought this as a five year plan series then they should progressed with Arthur and Merlin gradually to allow the relationship blossom; that way we will know where Merlin stands come the finale but ... this is sad.
I really fear for Merlin. He is the phoenix in this series, lighting himself to save everyone's arses and should have been given a proper title and acknowledgement but if the magic reveal doesnt happen at all; then he will be severely wasted character in the series.

Awful! It just can't be, that we never will get a magic reveal! I thought, that this was supposed to be the core of the show!? And now they say, the show wasn't about that? They can't be serious. What was the sense of Merlin protecting Arthur then at all? If not to create a world with him, where he can be himself and where magic isn't something to hide with? Arrgh. Did I miss the real message of the series? -.-
