Just posting some of the points that they made:

"I don't even ship this but...

Here’s some Arthur/Gwen scenes that were weirdly absent from the 5th season so far (SPOILERS):

A goodbye between Arthur and Gwen before he leaves in Ep 1.

Gwen’s reaction to Arthur’s disappearance in Ep. 1.

Any sort of insight in how Gwen feels about being queen and Arthur’s wife now. (EVERY episode goes on and on about Arthur’s doubts about being king—Gwen should be going through something similar, shouldn’t she?)

A welcome inicial between Arthur and Gwen in Ep. 2.

A scene where Arthur at least tells Gwen what’s been going on. Any episode. She’s his confidant, isn’t she?

Gwen telling ARTHUR what’s been happening while he’s been away. I know it’s implied that, of course he’s going to be informed, but again, still would’ve been nice to see some acknowledgement/insight into how they work together as king and queen now.

Ep 3: A scene where Arthur tells Gwen about the horn and his father. Again. Wife. Confidant. Hello?

Gwen’s reaction to almost being murdered por HER FATHER-IN-LAW.

Gwen confronting Arthur about still wanting to make his father proud even though his father basically killed her father and then tried to kill her.

A single scene where Arthur and Gwen are alone together.

That’s just this season. So far. Don’t. Get me started on Seasons 2-4. (I think 1 was okay.)

And I ship Merthur! I amor all the Arthur/Merlin scenes in the show. BUT tu can actually have a character be ridiculously close to one character, but still believably have him be in love/sexually attracted to another!

On one hand, I don’t want to lose all these beautiful Merthur scenes, but on the other…come on now. At least include her in their conversations. Something".

Just wanted to post this to mostrar that this isn't just a shipper thing. What these writers are doing por sidelining Arwen is poor storytelling and it isn't just Arwenites who have a problem with this.

Bonne-Bell Lol. I've actually seen a few but this was a surprise seeing as how he/she was actually admitting that there's a problem with the lack of Arwen. Usually they're celebrating the fact that Arwen is not in an episode and don't care that it's exclusion is actually hurting the storyline.

Bonne-Bell Okay, I was fine with Arwen in series 1-3. I wasn't expecting much of them in those seasons since their relationship either hadn't been developed or was a secret. But I think the neglect started in series 4. There were a lot of times in series 4 when they should have had scenes but didn't or they did but the scenes were cut. Just look at how they sidelined Gwen in the episode when Uther died and cut out her scenes with Arthur. That episode basically made it seem as if Merlin was the only who was there for Arthur when his father died and that is not right.

famfan Wow, *head shake* Ashamed for Merlin's writer or editors not sure which at this point. I am also ashamed for Merthur fans too. Some of them have been whining and belly aching about not wanting to loss their scenes. But their scenes are old hat. We have seen them all before.. They really have no new information to give use about Arthur and Merlin's relationship, until the Magical reveal. Their wish has been granted but at the price of the entire show. When I think about Merlin, I can't help but compare it to Dr. Who. (follow me now) with the 11th doctor we had something that was interesting a best friendship and a loving relationship all on scene together. Wow, hot damn it can be done. The writer of Merlin just need to figure out how. I have to believe that shippers are 1st fans. As fans we all want a well rounded show. I can't help but remember 413 of last year, it felt more well rounded then anything I have seen this year. It had love, friendship, and Bad ass Merlin! This is how Merlin is supposed to be. Darn shame the writers and editor don't seem to get that........

famfan O lord Bonnie I had forgotten about that episode. I hated what they did so much, I mentally blocked it out. Grrr........

Bonne-Bell That episode really irked me. Haven't watched it again since it aired and I'm not planning to.

hopeful377 I am so happy to hear a Merthur fan being real. Arthur is married now! We want to see his life with his confident, the woman he loves more than he could ever express!! Writers please wake up!!

MOPENDRAGON The storytelling and characterizations, especially regarding Arwen, so far in season 5 are incredibly lacking and it seems more and more in the fandom are noticing...I really hope the Merlin showrunners are paying attention. (But I must agree with some others who noted that Arwen has become more sidelined since S4. I was so hoping S5 would be Arwen heaven as our couple are finally married and on the throne...but so far S5 has been a true Arwen disappointment but hope springs eternal for the remainder of S5)
