MOPENDRAGON AMEN and AMEN!!! I saw the Merlin Confession in question and reblogged my disgust with the Queen's likeness being left out but a freaking dragon pic included. How on earth can you create a post about loving the Merlin cast and leave out the damn Queen of Camelot...SMH. I didn't know this bruhaha started with more racist exclusionary behavior on the part of SHINE. It's just wrong and the problem is that Shine doesn't help with it seeing as they rarely promote Angel/Gwen in promotional stuff when they have the perfect opportunity to do so. After all they are the ones that hired Angel because she is a wonderful actress.

EPaws Correction. The producers hired Angel, not the Marketing arm of the show. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE.

Lucerne28 Sigh. Can not say that i am surprised. Probably why we still have no news on the photo shoot that was to take place with Bradley and Angel. Does anyone know if that photo shoot is even still on? I haven't seen/read anything on twitter or tumblr about the shoot. Last thing i read was that it was to take place at the end of August.

lailastar Do these assholes realize that alot of fans watch Merlin because of Angel Coulby. I was drawn to the show because of the romance between Guinevere and Arthur not anything else. Most of the rest was immature and bad writing. The success of the show with those above ten yrs old is the romance component of the show, without it, I would have been bored and lose interest a few seasons ago.

EPaws I'm positive you will get the photoshoot. I don't actually think that is at issue to be honest. As the journalist said it would be done around the shooting. Now to my knowledge they will be shooting at Pierrefonds, 11, 12, and 13th. A short stint as already stated. As to the rest of the comments above....in total agreement. (A department store in the area often has books paired with stuffed toy characters with a portion of the proceeds to charity. The book around Christmas time before the boy was born -- in early February, so it wasn't THAT far off -- was "The Sneetches." I was immediately all, "GET THIS FOR HIM." And he also got a stuffed sneetch toy as well!)

tmko It is inspiring to come here and read from open minded and loving people. I suspect that tv productions that contain diverse cast members receive backlash, threats and hate messages from audiences who cannot tolerate images of race mixing. Those "haters" seem to be powerful enough to shut down many good programs (at least it seems so in the US. e.g. Life on Mars, Lie to Me and Hawthorne) It would be nice if there was an 'indie' global media outlet that could support Merlin, uncensored. And fuck NBC and other major media corporations.

sportyshuie I just don't get it sometimes ... all these hate towards Gwen/Angel which is getting way out of control nowadays. I am Asian and we have people of all colours living together and Merlin is such a popular series in my country but it's not Arthur or Merlin who draws the crowd ... it's Gwen/Angel. Their love for her is simple and honest; she's lovely, she's brilliant, she's talented and above all ... she relates to all of us. I'm not saying to win this conversation but that is the truth. The arwen romance is the one that lights up the series and without it, without our angel/gwen the series would have fallen flat in first couple of seasons. And still she doesn't get the recognition she deserves ... not even a spot for her picture for promotion. Perhaps if angel was cast as morgana, probably she'd be on the cover of all types of promotion shots, covers etc because she is evil and deserves to be scorned. But our Angel happens to play the part of one of the most powerful female figure in history and since she's brown/black, she can be ignored. Because the dragon is more important. Yes .. now i see it, it shares the same colour as Gwen unfortunately and there can only be one brown in the spot. Geez! and yes,mopendragon ... i too am waiting for Gwen's doll but i seriously doubt if we will ever get it and even if we do get it, they'll definately screw it up.

Here is what I sent to them:

To Whom It May Concern,

I have been watching Merlin since it first aired and have enjoyed it. The mixture of fantasy, swashbuckling adventures, drama, humor and romance has had me glued to my TV.

Lately I've found the lack of queen Gwen and scenes of her with King Arthur very disappointing. Especially since we were promised seeing Gwen being a confidante and great counsel for the King. And I feel we have yet to truly see it. Yes, we have gotten a few short scenes, but with not much depth.

And what makes this worse is that there are rumors going around that ángel Coulby's...
