I would also recommed Bakugan. It's pretty much similar to Digimon, Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh.

I don't know but tu know tu could introduce him to some different genre like sports anime o something. Usually doesn't have inappropriate things o blood and boys usually like sports, right?

When i was around his age I first watched InuYasha its a good anime he may enjoy if tu dont think so the One piece and naruto are the seguro ones to go to
