Post an anime series wherein the main character isn't very popular among the series' fans.

Mirai Nikki. The two main characters Gasai Yuno and Amano Yukiteru receive alot of hate. I understand on Yukiteru's part, considering he's a total wimp throughout most of the series, but Yuno was always one of my favorito! characters.

Do I even need to explain?

Shu gets so much hate for being a wimp but when he toughens up people calls him Hitler and then towards the end they call him Jesus
The fans never cut him some slack but I liked him he's pretty awesome

Everyone constantly asked for a character who shows anxiety and depression realistically. They still do. But of course, they were dado SHINJI IKARI from NGE, and called him a wimp, a crybaby, and dicho that "oh he just has daddy problems boohoo".
All the NGE I see on my tumblr dash is of the female cast, and when Shinji actually does appear, it's always in shipping imágenes (with kaworu obviously).
It just gets annoying having him treated as a joke tbh like i relate to him a lot and he's a really realistic character and just because he's not like a standard shounen anime protag like all of them are used to doesnt mean tu can treat him and his problems like crap.

i will admit though he does scream like a girl

Hibiki from Suite Pretty Cure isn't popular. Kanade however, that's another story.

Urusei Yatsura's Ataru Moroboshi. Due to the very nature of his horribly, incredibly lecherous character he's going to be massively hated, that's the type of character he's supposed to be. I mean, I'm probably his biggest fan and I would definitely say that if dado the chance I would drop him off a cliff into a pit of lava. (it's not as if that would kill him...)

Orihime Inoue (Bleach)
shes so kind cute and helpful but almost everyone just steps on her thinking shes useless.Even the mostrar doesn't treat her right even though shes suppose to be one of the main characters. I'm one of her biggest fans and shes super useful to me and i will always stick por her.

Tsunayoshi Sawada - doesn't seen to be as popular as the rest of the KHR characters, not saying he doesn't have his followers, but compared to the others guys....

Shiro from K. Not that K has a very big fanbase, but still. Among its fans, almost NO ONE talks about Shiro. I guess that's because he's a lot like Mikado from DRRR!!: too nice to hate, but too boring to love. He wasn't really my favorito! either, so I understand their standpoint.

Ayano from Kaze no Stigma.

The título character gets hate from almost everyone on the planet for what she put the male lead, Sakura(NO REALLY, THAT'S HIS NAME!!!), though.
