Does it piss tu off when people pronounce manga with a long "a"?

No, of course not. It's about the closest tu can get to the Japanese pronunciation with English phonemes; why would it? I don't understand what people have against this...

manga can be pronounced either way. I pronounce it with a long A cuz thats how tu say it in America!! ^^
People prounce anime with a short A, but thats wrong. Because 'anime' is short for 'animation'.

I never pronounced it right until two years ago. I finally got into the habit of pronouncing it right a año ago. Therefore, i dont have the right to be annoyed.

I had to look up what the long "a" sound was x_x Haven't heard it worded like that since Elementary school and it doesn't really make sense since I take the same amount of time to pronounce it long o short ;P

ANYWAYS, no it doesn't bother me. If they don't know the language how are they supposed to know how to pronounce it correctly and what sounds do o don't exist? I didn't get mad at my dog the first time she peed in the house when she was a puppy. Many of us don't speak Japanese so our mouth muscles have trouble forming sounds that aren't comfortable and/or don't roll off the tongue as easily as in our mother tongue. For a lot of people m-a-nga is más comfortable than m-ah-nga.

YES. I'm a real stickler for proper pronunciations, spelling, grammar, and language rules. I don't know why, but people misusing language, it's something that's always bugged me. = /
