No, of course not. It's about the closest tu can get to the Japanese pronunciation with English phonemes; why would it? I don't understand what people have against this...

Because in the asian language, there is no long a sound. therefore words are incorrect if spoken witj dicho sound and are supposed to be pronounced with a short a.

Yes, I understand; I speak Japanese, but the... I don't know, type of a is non-existant in English, as far as I know. Unless my mind is being stupid and playing tricks on me, but I honestly don't mind how people pronounce it. Yes, it's a word in another language. I don't expect everyone to get the pronunciation perfect if they don't speak it. Sorry if this makes no sense, I can't think straight at 2 AM.

People prounce anime with a short A, but thats wrong. Because 'anime' is short for 'animation'.

I had to look up what the long "a" sound was x_x Haven't heard it worded like that since Elementary school and it doesn't really make sense since I take the same amount of time to pronounce it long o short ;P

ANYWAYS, no it doesn't bother me. If they don't know the language how are they supposed to know how to pronounce it correctly and what sounds do o don't exist? I didn't get mad at my dog the first time she peed in the house when she was a puppy. Many of us don't speak Japanese so our mouth muscles have trouble forming sounds that aren't comfortable and/or don't roll off the tongue as easily as in our mother tongue. For a lot of people m-a-nga is más comfortable than m-ah-nga.

YES. I'm a real stickler for proper pronunciations, spelling, grammar, and language rules. I don't know why, but people misusing language, it's something that's always bugged me. = /
