I really do feel that the writers really did screw up bigtime in season 4 of angel. Especially with pairing Angel's son connor with jazmín possessed Cordelia. I didnt like it, it was WRONG in so many ways, they could have steered it a very different direction that can be still entertaining and allow connor some diginity and cordy as well

When he was a baby I loved him, he was so cute and he accepted ángeles vampire side and completely trusted him (Angel got him to stop crying por mostrando his vamp face). When he got kidnaped por Holtz i felt so sorry for both of them, specially for ángel cause he loved him and didn't deserve this. When Connor came back, at first I felt sorry for him and thought that he'd settle down and accept his dad, but Holtz meddled and Connor made ángeles life hell. I know it's all Holtz fault and I so wanted ángel to kill him for everything he did, but he didn't cause he loved Connar, and for Connar to do what he did to him - how can tu like him for it? I only began to lighten the hatred and dislike for him when he has his memory erased and is nice towards him. If left alone to Holtz they would have been very close, and even though I can't stand him nine times out of ten tu have to remember that Holtz taught and made him like this.

I had a total crush on Conner! I felt so sorry for him becouse he got brainwashed por Holtz, Lied to por Justine and malipulated por Cordelia. But him seemed really grumpy I liked him a lot better when he was in season 5.

WARNING: THIS ANSWER CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR ALL OF ANGEL, INCLUDING THROUGH VOLUME FOUR OF ANGEL: AFTER THE FALL. READ AT OWN RISK.

Like popular opinion, I was very annoyed with Connor in season four. I liked him in season five. I LOVED him in in Angel: After the Fall. I think the writers made the best out of a bad situation-- and they really did make the best of it! Connor exemplifies the admirable qualities of his father in the comics, including his leadership skills and his blind faith in something better. He also is the only one who refuses to let ángel die in volume four, even when ángel himself didn't want to live anymore. Very admirable...

I could say more, but I've already spoiled After the Fall enough, so I won't.

> ENJOY :D

to be honest i almost hate him not as a baby but the lies holtz told him ahhhhhggggggggggggggggg i cried for days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i wish they had kept conner as a baby and that ángel and cordy had ended up together but as a joss mostrar always gos a relationship never lasts longer then a año :(, i also wished that darla hadn't died cause frankly that son of hers didn't appreciate the sacrifice. i am sorry to everybody i have insulted with my rant, it tu have a different opinion correo electrónico me :D. the only time i like connor again is in season 5. it ángel had received future seasons hopefully the writers would have expanded his character, as he already had mixed memories of what has happened in his life. and if tu ask me it isn't the happiest.

I amor connor... but only in season 3 and 5.
Season 4 it was way too much drama that his character didn't make anymore sense anymore... but once season 5 came... I wish he stayed. :)

I hate connor he is annoying and whiny and angst. i can understand why he would. He was in a hell demension for 18 years...i get that but after a whole season it really started to get old. Also the whole connor/cory thing was just ewwwwwwww. Cordy was like connors mom when he was a baby and then 18 years later he has a "baby" with her. one word...GROSS.

Of all of the characters on the ángel series, Connor was my least favorite. Both the ángel and Buffy series had a lot of serious stuff go down, but every character had a sarcastic o witty side; every character had there silly moments; even Angel, Sir Broods-a-Lot himself, knew how to be silly every now and again. My main issue with Connor is that he didn't have that. I don't know if that was supposed to make him a TRULY TRAGIC CHARACTER, I just know that it was annoying as all get out. If he wasn't angsting it up in corners, then he was being a sneering little douche in someone's face. por the time he left, I was so over that character it wasn't even funny.

I study screen writing, I amor all of Joss Whedon's work and study a lot of his formulas, as well as his bibles, scripts and character developments. To me, there is something más to the way they treated the whole Connor and Cordelia.

Joss Whedon and all those that work with him, hold up the most respect for their main characters, even if they go to the dark side, he shows them going on a journey. Though, with Cordelia it really seemed to be lacking, something wasn't right.

She goes from this high school girl and really grows into this wonderful person then bam, all that character building is taken away in the most hateful way. It's not like the writer's o the creators to do that.

So I can't help wonder if maybe something behind scenes caused them to have this huge resistment towards her. I have heard rumours that she was pregant in real life and didn't tell the writer's and that's why they decicded to kill her off. Of course rumours is nothing to base fact on but if true makes a whole bunch of sense.

To this question, I think it was the writer's intent to have Connor become close to his father, they seemed to be going in that direction with Cordelia cleanising his soul, her new found magic was seen as a reward. Then all of a sudden they change direction. How they try to make it like everyone's life was controlled and all the things they did was for the grand plan. It not only took away from everyone's journey but also estola the show.

It was a desperate attempt por the writer's to band aid what they must of felt was a huge mess. tu can see it in every line, story line and attempt to try to make it as neat as possible. They spent so much time doing damage controll the story, season and character development really suffered.

I have a feeling the dream that ángel had was what the writer's were going to do, though, with the situation what ever it was they changed it. The dream I am talking about is the one where he finds the sward but then wakes up as Angelous.

Scripts are usually written well before being filmed but on TV are changed all the time. I think Connor is so disliked cause out of all the characters it was easiest to make him the only credit character to go on this self distructing journey with out causing too much of an outrage with fans.

Season four doesn't feel right, there's something off with it. I went to see Joss Whedon do a talk in Sydney, he talked alot about his mostrar (didn't mention which one) going off direction. He also took the best writer off ángel and put him on Firefly. I think it was just too much for David to handly por himself. I think he needed Tim.

I know that Charisma Carpenter wasnt happy about season four and the whole storyline with connor....and from past interviews that the writers had a whole other story for that season but she (Charisma) told the writers/producers she was pregnant.....but the writers could have done the mostrar alot más justice than they did and gone an entirely different path in what they did, because that whole season was just - blah....another than having a few good episodes. Find it a tad disappointing :(

Sort of odd choices here, may I pick another one?
I think that Connor, like what happened in another part of the Jossverse, a thing called DAWN, was TPTB injecting a teenager into a mostrar that was losing its teen audience. I didn't like him, not the annoying surly better-than-thou'ishness.... and not sure about the choice for casting. Too many core characters were jesttisoned (we only had two characters who were both in the first and last episodes of the show! And one was Lindsey!) and the mostrar lost its way.
So I don't want to say "I can't stand him!", but I wasn't and as I watch again, am again not really excited about him. Ugh Cordelia just went to stay with him. Grossness ahead! ;0)
