What is the White Queen's role in Alice in Wonderland?

Her aim is to help Alice but as it turns out she's not as helpful as she could be.
Her real name is Mirana of Marmoreal.

For all we know (and what weve seen from the pictures of anne hathoway dressed as the white queen) im sure Tims version of the white queen will be different to what we all will imagine it to be!!!

In the book:
The white queen is a chess piece that happens to find Alice. But, because the book is supposed to be a dream, the White Queen's help is of no benefit to our dear Alice.
In the Movie:
Yes, I know that por now tu most likely know, but I am going to state it anyways: Mirana is the 'good' queen, if tu will, who does absolutely no harm to anyone. She, although being really wierd and sometimes freaky in her mannerisms, serves to give Alice an option in life, to make her own desicions. She also gives the leverage needed for Alice to even begin to have the incentive to fight the Jabberwalky at last.
